OOC: You're going to have to roll to attack, basically.  Because there's always a chance you could screw up and end up with a live grenade landing at your feet.

-- GM POST --

Harry activates the grenade and waits until the speeder is flying out the exit to toss it.  He slams the speeder door shut.

OOC: DUH!  he's having internet problems...  I need to keep a spreadsheet or something...

09:47, Today: Arbiter rolled 13 using 4d6 with rolls of 4,3,3,3. grenade.

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
The speeder, under Metzz's harried control, rockets out of the parking structure mere seconds before a trio of police cruisers move to block the exit.

Selous tosses out his grenade behind and it detonates right underneath one of the cruisers as they swing around to pursue.  The vehicle is flipped up and back by the concussion, crashing into the police speeder behind it.

But two of the police vehicles continue to pursue.

The city street is crowded with traffic and pedestrians, creating a harrowing obstacle course of objects, people, and droids to have to navigate around.

OOC: We're in action movie car chase mode, people!

Metzz, give me a Rep Op roll and a Dex check to handle driving and not killing anybody while you're doing it.  No multi-action penalty.

And, as a friend, I recommend dumping some points into Rep Op next time I hand out CP. ;)

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
Metzz throws the Repulsor Car about like a toy, mounting the sidewalk, swerving in and out oncoming traffic,
even crossing a padestrian plaza!  Anything to keep the cops one step behind.

18:49, Today: Metzz rolled 9,12 using 3d6,3d6 with rolls of 2,4,3;4,6,2. Repulsor Op; DEX.

Burn CP to increase Rep Ops. 18:51, Today: Metzz rolled 5 using 1d6 with rolls of 5. CP.

Rep Ops = 14; DEX = 12.

Harry made to toss a grenade, fumbling about as the speeder's erratic maneuvers slung the trio about.

OOC - Harry Selous rolled a thirteen using one cp and with a critical failure of 1

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
Selous get the grenade out the door, but it fails to detonate.

Metzz manages (barely) to avoid hitting anything or anyone.  The pursuing police, trained to drive in such conditions, aren't shaken by the Verpine's attempts at evasive maneuvers.

Things look like they're about to get even dicier as traffic ahead has slowed to a crawl.  Speeders and other vehicles are clogged in gridlock.

OOC: You're about to hit a traffic jam (perhaps literally).  Think fast!

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
Metzz thinks fast!  He swerves wildly infront of the braking traffic, and pops a handbrake turn.  Even as the poor civillians fish-tail, Metzz throtles up, crosses the highway and merges with the oncoming traffic leaving the accidsent behind him. "Shoot the Coppers!"

18:51, Today: Metzz rolled 12 using 3d6 with rolls of 4,6,2. Repulsor Op.
19:50, Today: Metzz rolled 5 using 1d6 with rolls of 5. wild die.  TOTAL = 17.

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
Metzz is able (barely) to slew the speeder off onto a less-crowded side-street.  There a horrible crashing sound behind as one of the police speeders doesn't react in time and runs into the traffic jam--literally.

But the remaining speeder stays on your tail.

Several blaster bolts lance past from behind.  It's obvious that the cops aren't treating you with kid gloves any longer.

OOC: Rep Op roll, por favor.  Also, Chomper is starting to come around.

"There still one following us, an they're shooting! Try going faster! " Bulyip says so that everyone is sure what is going on. The small reptilian seems pretty worked up, jumping around to look forward, backward, and back again.

"Toss another grenade!"

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
After his previous fumble with the grenades, Harry was hesitant to use any more, but at Bulyip's insistence, and with the persistent pursuit from the authorities, he decided it was time to go for broke. He opened the hatch and attempted to toss out a third grenade.

OOC - Harry Selous rolled 17 using 4d6 with rolls of 5,2,4,6. Grenade throw.

Metzz was becoming more used to the operational parameters of this repulsor car now, weaving and jinking the thing about.

09:50, Today: Metzz rolled 15 using 3d6 with rolls of 6,3,6. Repulsor Op.
09:50, Today: Metzz rolled 2 using 1d6 with rolls of 2. wild die. TOTAL = 17.

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
Metzz slews the speeder down an alley.  The pursuing police swoop in behind, just in time for Selous to drop another grenade out the door.  There's nowhere for the police speeder to dodge in the narrow confines of the alleyway, so it catches the full explosion right beneath its repulsorpad.

The detonation catapults the vehicle several meters into the air.  Needless to say, it's in no condition to pursue once it lands.

It would seem that, for now, you're in the clear.  There's no immediate sign of pursuit as Metzz pilots out of the alley and back onto the main city streets.

However, people outside are running and panicking from the explosion, so it's not like things are exactly back to normal, either...

Slipping back into his seat in a seated position, the Aleena breathes out a little from relief.

Chomper comes to shortly after, snarling and grumbling as he shakes his head to clear it of cobwebs.

He whips his head around in angry confusion, snarling viciously, until he catches sight of Selous.  The Sandslasher pounces on his master, happily butting his head against Selous in one of his few non-violent displays of affection.

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
Metzz heads towards the edge of town, trying to keep a low profile and drive casual.  Several times, emergency vehicles race past in the opposite direction, sirens blaring.  But none of them seem to take notice of the speeder.

There's something to be said for riding in a generic old jalopy...

The emergency band is buzzing like an angry hornet's nest, including several BOLO's for the speeder.  It seems that the local authorities have taken a rather dim view to the whole "speeder chase with grenade detonations on crowded public streets" thing.

Re: 5: Flying Under the Radar
Sitting in the speeder, Bulyip is getting antsy. He's looking to getting out of it once they are back. He is going around the speeder from window to window to see if anything is following them, or something to keep his eyes out for.

Finally he says, "Me bored. We should find a cantina and stop for a drink. Me buying."

"As much as I'd like a free drink, I'm not sure stopping for booze is the best idea so recently after blowing so many cop cars straight to poodoo. We'll get some drinks later, alright little fella?" Harry said as he patted Chomper on the head and waited for the speeder to get back to the hanger.

"Cops are putting roadblocks down and sending flyers up.  We need to ditch the vehicle and walk back.  I'll get us as close as I can."

Metzz listens intently to the police channel, trying to locate the roadblocks by landmarks and signal strength.
He will get them as close as possible

09:59, Today: Metzz rolled 13 using 5d6 with rolls of 6,1,2,2,2. Comm's.
