Don smiled as he began to cut his steak. "Good, she enjoys seeing you and they'll appreciate the help. We'll be up in the canadian wilderness so the little angel in your arms will be the only one able to get ahold of us."

  Nora nodded, and said "And you know she'll keep a close eye on us.  Adorable little angel that she is, she worries about us."

"She cares about both of you immensely," Lucas said. "Her care extends to all of our surrogate family as well."

"Its not surprising she keeps a close eye on us, with what happened to her mother. I'll never forget her pawing at my chest saying. 'Mommy's gone cold.'"

  Nora nodded, and said softly "We are so lucky Jessica brought her to us, Don.  She was right that nobody else could handle her."

Lucas smiled at the newly married couple, briefly glancing at Diantha, then looking back at them.

"She's very intuitive, even at this young age. That will serve her well."

  Diantha cuddled a little closer as she rolled slightly sideways.  She nuzzled his chest as she slept.

"When she picks a spot, she's there to stay," Lucas said smiling down at the young angel he held.

Don smiled at that. "Oh I think i know that better than anybody, I'm pretty much her favorite nap spot."

  Nora laughed, and said "She's like a cat, ten pounds heavier when she sleeps!"

"She's content and at peace," Lucas said. "I'm glad to be a small contributing factor to that, this poor girl's been through a lot already."

"Oh yeah what with losing her mother getting kidnapped, three attempted kidnappings, almost losing me, losing her Aunt. Its a lot to deal with in eight months."

"A lot for all of us," Lucas replied. "Still...I made a promise to her that I would do what I could to protect her."

  "Yeesh, same jerks all three times?  Or has there been an influx of people who think baby theft is a good idea?"  He could think of why someone would attempt such a thing at least.  Take a look at all the people around this reception and one could come to the conclusion of 'okay, maybe I could take on a baby in a fight'

"No not the same guy, the successful one was her mothers father. He's a bit of a criminal mastermind and if you haven't already assumed he doesn't like me. The attempts were dine by different enemies of mine two of which I thought I killed. I stopped the first one, my father thwarted the other two. Though I pity who-ever tries it once she masters some of those powers of hers."

  Nora nodded, and said "Yes.  I think you got to see her, Lucas?"

"Briefly....but yes, I believe I do remember seeing her," Lucas replied to Nora.

With Don and Nora on vacation and two less people in the house, Penny was pretty much watching Diantha or resting. Jack barely left her side. Currently they were sitting in the living room while Diantha crawled around the floor.


Ooc: Dianthas between 6-8 months old I figure thats old enough to be crawling?

  Penny was keeping an ear on Diantha, and while the adorable little girl was exploring her surroundings, she was keeping up a running exchange with Penny telepathically, giving the girl practicing.

There was a knock at the door and Jack gor up to answer the door.

On the other side was Ethan. "Just who I wanted to see! May I come in?"

  Lorelei was with Ethan, and had her hand in his as he spoke.  She gave Jack a smile, clearly a noncombatant.

"Of course, what can I do for you?" Jack stepped aside so they could enter.

Ethan stepped inside with a smile. "I suppose I'll just get down to brass tacks, Your aware I'm the assistant director of the DPA? Well we are aware of some of your exploits not the least of which getting out of a secure compound that was highly guarded and once you turn eighteen we'd like to offer you a job."

Jack looked dumbfounded. "You want me to be a super-soldier?"

Ethan smiled. "Actually we were thinking more of a super-spy."

  Penny looked toward the door, and said thoughtfully "Jack?  You'd be good at what he's talking about."

Jack looked at Penny taking her hand as he sat next to her. "But what about you Penny? And the baby? Spies don't spend their nights at home."
