So I'm expecting that it'll be quite some time before Truth is back in action here.  That said, I got the distinct impression that the game's hosts have a passion for this setting of theirs, which is why I'm willing to keep watching this place for their return.

Wouldn't be against someone starting up a new game in the interim, hint hint wink wink.

I'm a surgeon so well aware of the surgical TX for CTS. That said I missed the post from Truth saying this was going on.

I'd be fighting major depression trying to run one, and would folks be able to cope with screaming lunacy in the basis for the game setting?

Oof, sorry to hear.  Hope you're getting good treatment.  As for whether running a game would be good for you or not is up to you.  Of the many gamemasters I know, I can't think of any who don't have some sort of challenge they're facing, (myself included) and some of them say that running a game is good therapy.  Others say it is stressful.  Either way, screaming lunacy isn't so much a problem.  (It's an asset for one of 'em.)  It's an unwillingness to work with the challenges that the players are dealing with that I have a problem with.

Player:  "I have PTSD.  Can we please avoid the following triggers..."
GM: "Nope."

Truth/Justice gave me permission to run side things here, but currently, I am having trouble thinking of something. That said, I haven't stopped thinking about this place or occasionally pondering what I could do to make a fun RP for you guys in the meantime.

One idea I had would take place inside someone's mind (presumably one of my two characters, or just an NPC).

The other idea would take place in the north pole and involve Santa Clause, but I'm hesitant to try that without clearing with Truth/Justice that Santa exists in this setting.

Or some super trying to pose as the cultural character, for whatever reason.

One of my original henchclown "minion" concepts had a Santa-style suit. Who knows who might be bonded to that suit now, some years later?

If you all are game, I'll run the mind one. And then when that one gets resolved, if Truth/Justice are not back yet, I'll run the Santa one.

Think kind of like The Matrix. You would still be you with whatever abilities you have, but you would exist in a world that only emulates the rules of the real world. So although your powers would appear to affect the environment, you aren't actually physically affecting anything.

So Rodger's magic is even more of a mind screw than usual. How would the costs of a power work within this "Matrix?"

It would work however your powers work normally, but as an emulation. So if you needed a blood sacrifice, you would take one of the people/creatures from the place and offer a blood sacrifice. It wouldn't be a real person or creature, but then the magic technically wouldn't be real either. But it would be real enough to affect the world you are stuck in. :)

Why do you ask? Getting ideas?

Rodger gets his mana via his henchclowns. Their pain becomes power that sustains the whole group, and can be spent (in various flavors) to fuel Rodger's spells.

There's also the mindmail part of his system, letting the clowns mentally communicate via a form of email. Not sure how that would mess with your plans either.

Hmm... that could potentially add to the story. Especially if I go with "an hour inside the person's mind is a minute in the real world" antics. So I'll leave it to you if you want your henchclowns stuck with you, or have them actually outside and they give you occasional updates, but it takes longer for you to get updates than normal? Sound fun?

Them actually being outside would be interesting. And a bit nerveracking for Rodger, possibly.

Using Lifelight's Secret Lab thread as that hasn't had anything going for years and it is my own personal thread/space, so I know I'm not stepping on any shoes. :)

Same rules as real world, so if you go for genre makeover, it would work the same; go aside with the proper makeup/tools and such. Otherwise, you look like how you normally look. :)

Bureaucrats are a blight on the world.  I'm still fighting to try and get said carpal tunnel treated.  Hands are pure crap (used to be able to touch type 120+ wpm, can't touch type at ALL anymore because damn hands are numb most of the time) and typing actually gets downright painful at times.  Plus a lot of other crap IRL going on.  But if y'all are up for it, we can try and get things back to active.  For those of you authorized to use GM/Mod powers to help out, believe me, I appreciate it.  Justice works 2nd shift, I work a slightly wonky third shift, with one teenager and one toddler in the house.  Toddler is the one that takes up more time, as he likes to get into things.  Now, I do have some ideas, but y'all will need to be patient with me.  Who's game for some mysterious stuffs?
