Andy chuckled, and blinked the Ambassador to the embassy, then reappeared, LOOKING human as he said "So let's put some bootprints on here."

"We're going to put some boots to asses," Dragon Fist said. "Did you happen to catch a glimpse of how many people were guarding the ambassador?"

Victoria's eyes became a solid irisless azure, and her hands glowed with eldritch power.

Meg said "Let's do it."   That said, she began walking forward, her own eyes gold-green as the door in front of her literally collapsed into a small baseball sized sphere.  Then it dropped to the ground, out of the way.

"Knight, Andy and myself will take point and draw their fire. Meg and Victoria, come in behind us."

Dragon Fist took point, entering the building and waiting for the first of the NPA combatants to engage.

Several "standard" guards came out, dressed in black jumpsuits to meet and greet the heroes who came in.

Meg and Victoria could see a shimmering orange-red energy beginning to pulsate above and around them.

Dragon Fist went and combatted some of the black-garbed guards, but it was painfully obvious that this was a distraction, as it seemed the ones behind this were making their escape.

Andy had gone for the ambassador, scaring the whey out of him by accident, but it worked to get him out of the line of fire.

The fight progressed, as the perpetrators behind the kidnapping escaped, as their guards were left to take the fall.

Dragon Fist, Knight Errant, Meg, Victoria (and soon Andy) stood triumphant, but the nagging sensation that this conflict had just begun remained steadfast on their minds.

Dragon Fist crossed his arms and nodded in acknowledgement to Meg's comment.

"I agree. If nothing else, they've proven they can strike pretty much wherever and whenever they want."

Dragon Fist turned back to Knight Errant.

"You did good back there, and your skills will only improve with time."

He paused for a moment.

"You owe it to yourself to find out more about the amulet that grants you the power of the ancient Knights. If you find out more about the amulet, it may help you in the future."

"Any ideas on how? The museum still thinks those kidnapers took it. Its not like I'm a historian, just a security guard."

Dragon Fist thought for a moment.

"There's a person I know that may be able to help. She has a very extensive knowledge of the occult. And she's a great person to boot."

He turned to Meg.

"Thank you for all your help, Meg. Do you know if your Mom is presently engaged with anything? My friend here could use some assistance."

Victoria declined to go with the others, as she explored the sight where the battle took place. Something was not right here, there was something elusive about this conflict.

She had a thoughtful look on her face before her eyes went a pupiless blue, surveying the area and looking for magical signatures.

"Someone wanted this fight here, Andy. The question is who.....and why?"

Victoria smiled at Andy, hugging him back then went back to surveying the sight.

"Hmmmmm.....this isn't good. There are residual traces of chaos magic. Our friends and their opponents are pawns in a much bigger game. But what?"

She sighed for a moment.

"It's difficult being the Defender of the Realm, seems opponents come at us from all sides."
