"At the risk of sounding insultingly sarcastic, I still haven't found the government forms for 'I died and came back as an inhuman thing.  Can I have my bank meager account and social security number back with only my word for it please'.  So this has been a pleasant step up from before."

Jared chuckled at Matt's description.  "Yeah, i can see where that would be difficult."

Then he smiled and said, "Well, it is good to be here, regardless of anything else.  For some reason, The Fates decided I should be here, and it sounds like the work you do and the work I want to do are compatible, so life is good."

  Candy smiled at Matt, and told him "You know, there are those of us who are fairly sure that it COULD be done, if you asked Lin.  I imagine she and Oswald Sr could get it done, between the two of them, Matt."

"Sounds like you'll fit into the craziness that is Weston City, Jared," Jeff told him. He then looked over at Candy.

"You look amazing today.."

  Candy smiled, and said "Thanks love.  You looking forward to another quiet day?"

"I'd like to think so...but the way this city is, things won't stay quiet for long," Jeff said with a chuckle.

  "Considering that seems to include punching necromancers in the face, more people for the punching is good." Matt comments to Jared.

  He turns towards Candy and adds "I've been lucky enough to have a place to crash, so I haven't really felt up to asking for more when there are others with worse problems.  I'm tempted, but considering you're suggesting a pair of wizards to solve my legal status, it leaves me wondering."  Your honor, the prosecution claims the defendant hired wizards to falsify government wait, what?  Is this a joke?

Jared tilts his head.  "A necromancer?  Sounds... intriguing.  Sounds like there is a story here?  I'd love to hear it, if you have the time..."

  Candy nodded, and said "Sounds like things got interesting last time you were out, Matt.  Please DO tell."

  Matt shrugs, "Some of the others probably have a better idea of who they were, was the first time I was dealing with them.  We all went along with some templars to track them down to a funeral home.  While Ozzy, a nice mage dealt with a death curse on the front door, I went through early to interrupt whatever ritual it was by punching them while they were chanting.  They showed up in time to deal with a bunch of skeletons, and everyone generally kicked eachother's ass until the necromancers just teleported away."

  He considers the whole situation, and adds "I still have no idea what they were trying to pull off aside from apparently stealing souls.  But that's bad enough as it is."

Jared grinned.  "'Punching them while they were chanting?'  That's pretty funny.  Direct, effective."

  Outside, Meg snagged a paper plate, put together two burgers, and wrapped them up as she soared skyward, calling "Back afterbit, Dragon Fist is asking for a consult!!"

  Matt hopes it's a less than dire consultation, but happy social calls don't normally involve flying off...  Then again, flying off until recently wasn't even on the options list.

  "Necromancers also do not appreciate being taken literally, unless they would have been just as angry otherwise.  It can be hard to tell I guess."

Jared rubs his chin thoughhtfully.  "It makes one wonder if there are cheerful necromancers?  It does seem like a profession that would attract the cranky and maladjusted."

  Matt shrugs,  "If there can be mostly cheerful demons, than I guess there can be perky necromancers.  And more bone jokes than reasonable."

Halkor took his tunic and robes from the ground and donned them after he'd sheathed his sword and stepped over to the others. "There are a few of these 'necromancers' in Arkalian history but there practices have long been stamped out."

Ex landed in the back yard looking around at thsoe outside. "Anyone seen Darren?"

Jared nodded, and said, "Yeah, he was just showing me around a few minutes ago."

Ex landed on the ground shifting from a beefy long haired man in a red and gold costume to a nerdy looking teenager in jeans and a watchman hoodie. "Cool. He inside? I'm Bill by the way. When I'm in the costume I'm Excelsior, or Ex for short." He held out his hand for a shake

Jared shook Excelsior's hand, and said, "Jared Argent, codename, Revenant.  Good to meet you."

  Darren was still in the gym (he'd sort of wandered on down there) and was listening to the news as he was lifting his weights.  He'd been steadily pushing himself, and it was really starting to show.  Had he ever done this before, he might NOT have been such a 'nerd' to most of the school, as it seemed his body LIKED this, and was sculpting nicely.

In reply to Jared Argent (msg # 688):

"Likewise, I'd like to get better aquainted but I need to go find my man, we have things we need to talk about. If you'll excuse me." With that he walked into the house and headed to the gym to find Darren working out. "Hey sexy, any ideas on what we should do about this?"

  Darren smiled, his gray eyes lighting up as he saw Bill, and he said "I'm not sure where to begin, maybe wait for them to strike?"

Bill sat down on one of the weight benches patting his hand on his lap signalling Darren to take a seat. "I don't know if I like that idea, but I don't know what else we can do. We know she doesn't have a choice but we still want to keep the damage to a minimum."

  Darren sat the weight bar down, and sat up, moving to sit on Bill's lap as he did.  He said "Not optimal, I know.  But it's a plan.  I don't know where to start looking for them otherwise.  And are you wanting me to lap critter just so you can get your hands all over my sweaty self?"  He WAS already sweating, but his muscles were 'popped' already from the workout.  They weren't fantastic, but he was definitely putting ON muscle, not getting nerdier.
