Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

"But..  come on.  It's a HOVER TANK...  I have to give this thing a try."

Clearing his throat he tries to act a little more mature.  More along the lines that he can be known for after he gets past his initial 'fix' of new tech.  Failing miserably at it.  There was just too much asking... nay demanding to be said!

"I promise not to paint a Cobra symbol on it.  But it'd be good to get a feel for what this thing is capable of.  We'll probably be seeing it in action pretty soon.  And there's just not enough room in here to even move it."

Friday rolled her eyes and grinned at her friend.

Just PLEASE behave yourself with it?  If I hear about you going through a McDonald's drive thru with the damned thing, I WILL have to kick your ass.

Friday loved weapons, but wasn't as into armored vehicles like Hotwire, prefering the "hands on" approach.

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

Lucas wasn't sure if Friday had not seen Psyche's attempt to flirt with him...or if she did....and they were talking about him via telepathy. With what they had been through, Friday didn't have to worry about him. No matter what intoxicating woman would come along, be it in the form of Mirage or Lady Psyche, he was still in love with Friday. Now...the tendency to look in either woman's direction was very strong...which he would succumb to occassionally, but he and Friday had something very real. More than just a physical connection...it seemed that their connection was almost...SPIRITUAL...

Still, one couldn't help but wonder what MIGHT have happened had Mirage met him on one of his nightly patrols...or if Lady Psyche had met him when the Legacy was first formed.

Ah....THE ROAD NOT TAKEN...

But the potential what ifs didn't matter...for he and Friday were part of the Legacy. And right now, the Legacy had business. Dealing with the Bertellis' new source of firepower.

He then saw Hunter sort of look a little lost for a moment. He remembered the instance where they went to Brain's fortress. A lot of secrets were revealed that day, and it looked like Hunter might still be troubled by his.

"Hey Don...we were thinking of possible ways to track down the Bertellis' mysterious supplier. Do you have any thoughts as to who we can lean on?"

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

Hunter, snapping out of his trance steps forward to the others, "Well, we could track down those para thugs they were using, but they probably skipped town. We could hit some of their hangouts, but if we burst in full costume and start punching people the ones who know the most are gonna take off. We could do this strictly civvie. Friday uses whatever contacts she has as a detective, Katy looks into the police files, and I spread some money around. Then so it doesn't look like we're coming at this with all we got Mirage and Dragon fist go the public route in punchin folks for information that way we're going after them on two fronts, meanwhile Zeke can look into what more he can learn from this technology and maybe if he can find a papertrail."

Lucas nodded.

"Looks like another day in the life of The Legacy Of Weston. All right...now we have a plan..."

Turning to Mirage, he then asked, "Do you know of any hotspots we can start on?"

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

Mirage gave Hotwire a small smile and, with an almost regal gesture, the crate with the hover tank vanished in a puff of crimson smoke.  "Play nicely now, Hotwire, and try not to get carried away too much." she said turning to regard her nails once more.

Mirage raised her eyes to look over at Hunter.  "That sounds like a good idea.  Mirage is a little more than a pretty face who beats people up." she said with a small smile.  "As enjoyable as that would be, I was thinking of something a little more subtle.  A little bit of infiltration with some wheeling and dealing."

Mirage blurred into a thick plume of crimson smoke.  The smoke flowed like water to surround Dragon Fist, as Mirage reappeared with one of Lucas' arms around her shoulder, holding onto the man like some silver screen poster girl clinging to an action hero.  "I've been dying for a little alone time with Dragon Fist." she said softly, drawing circles on his chest with a finger.

Friday gives a little snort of laughter and rolls her eyes.

You two kids have fun, now.   She grins at Lucas' discomfort at Mirage's flirting, having put up so often with him grinning at Friday's discomfort when the sexy woman flirted with HER.

Turning to Mirage, he then said, "All right chica. I admit it has been quite some time since we talked last. What did you have in mind as far as infiltration?"

"I think I might be able to dig up something on the Bertelli's and a list of known associates within the place --"

And I might have to take Captain Jordan. He isn't that bad-looking, and I like 'im. 'sides, he'd get it more than Lucas ever would...you're too chicken. came the amused voice broadcasted to Friday at the same time she spoke aloud.

"And Hotwire, I won't hesitate to throw you in the slammer for a couple days if I catch you wheelin' through town with that hover-tank." She turned to look at Friday, a playful twinkle in her eye, "So it's settled. I'll have to go talk to the PD for a little bit, Mirage and Dragon Fist'll do some runnin'n'gunnin', and Friday'll do whatever she does. What'm I missin'?"

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

"I was thinking of indulging our bad sides." Mirage said, smiling.  "A little disguise for both of us and we can start making some inquiries as to who might be interested in purchasing some recently re-stolen high tech weapons.  With enough ears listening in on us, I'm sure that we can catch the Bertelli's attention."

"And don't worry, Peregrine.  I'll take *very* good care of our man here."  She gave Friday a playful wink.  Mirage knew that Friday and Lucas were an item and she might flirt with both of them, carrying on a tradition that she started when she first met them, she was not going to do anything to interfere.  At least someone should be happy in the arms of another.

He then smiled at Mirage. She was a lot of fun to be around...

"Well, Mirage...you are the fashion expert....how do you wish to proceed? Three piece Armani suit and slacks?"

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

"Well technically I like Taco Bell, hover tanks don't 'wheel' through anything and good luck finding a jail capable of holding me now."

He misses the playful wink between Lady Psyche and Friday and while the serious and somewhat hurt tone that filters in through his voice could be taken as just his humor, people that know him well would know otherwise.  As he nods to Don's plan he gives a look over his shoulder to Friday and forces a smile in her direction, but doesn't look in the direction of Lady Psyche.

Heading out into the abandoned subway area, if the crate isn't there that Mirage teleported, he'll ride the rails and then the powergrid to his warehouse.

Friday arches an eyebrow at Lady Psyche's comment.   She sent her a private message.
Some of use prefer quality to quantity, sweetie.   But if you enjoy being an "all access pass", then have fun.

Personally, I'd prefer to be a girlfriend than a sextoy that occasionally asks for food.

She smiles back.

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

Lucas nodded back to Friday in acknowledgement of her comment, and gave her a small smile. It would appear that despite how desireable Lady Psyche appeared to be, she still had a lot to learn about people...specifically the ones that were part of the Legacy. Lucas was taken...maybe another super-type could help Lady Psyche get the fulfillment that she sought.

Playfully, Lucas pulled Mirage closer to him. "So Mirage...what do you think? Armani? Gucci?"

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

Psyche chuckled openly at Friday's comment. She shook her head slightly, and hopped up on one of the crates, swinging her legs slightly.

That's not what I meant... She broadcasted, slightly annoyed and slightly amused, but she dropped it at that, closing her eyes momentarily, before opening them again.

"Okay, now that you two are off on that, I think I might try something," she shot an annoyed look at Mirage, then hopped off the crate, striding to an open area. She closed her eyes once again, concentrating. A purplish mist enveloped her, and she appeared to disappear as it settled.

...

......

Except a loud crash was heard from inside one of the crates, along with a barrage of swearing to rival even Friday, and a fired blast from one of the weapons inside said crate that seems to ricochet several times off of nothing, until it shoots toward one of the walls, with the usual resulting hole-with-small-tremor that goes along with it.

Psyche peaks out of the crate, positively glaring at Mirage. "Mirage, I think I'm going to need some more training with that," she said, while carefully lifting herself out of the crate with some good ol' TK.

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

PM to Friday

As he exits the base and enters the subway he picks up a prybar and gets to work opening the crate that Mirage teleported for him.  Mirage would know, after all, that he'd want this relatively close to Machinesmith's lair.  Having this out in the open would be too easy for someone to get to, after all.  Removing the tinfoil hat from his head he tosses it aside and winces a little as the energy blasts rips out through the hidden room, smirking a little.

Slipping into the crate after making a decent sized hole for himself he brushes a few fingers against the armor and then moves for the engine, absorbing into the tank.  He keeps most of the systems off though he runs a few diagnostics on the systems as well as running a few simulations within the onboard training program to get a feel for what this tank is capable of.  While at the same time he looks for any signs of company names either etched onto the microchips and metal used to create this magnificent work of art, as well as anything encoded into the software to run the tank.  Even Zeke took some pride in his work, and if he ever made something this heavy, he'd definetly leave a signature on it.  Somehow.

Mirage has always been the best of us at "thinking outside the box".
Friday said the words with a deadpan expression, nodding solemnly at Lucas.

Re: The Legacy's Headquarters

I've been avoiding her "assistance" like the nightmare scenario that it is.   I love Mirage very much, but the thought of being her "dress up doll" is very frightning.

Out loud, she says:
Perhaps I'll leave you lot to it, then.  I'll go make some calls.

She gives Lucas a warm kiss before turning to go.
