Re: The streets

Dragon Fist attempts to tumble out of the way of Skullface's gigantic fists to his other leg, and then attempts a straight-edged kick to his other kneecap, hoping to hamper his mobility even more...

Re: The streets

Peregrine spins and weaves a flying pattern that would reduce a normal person to mush from the G forces.  She attempts to avoid the hand and slam into "Mattress Boy" before he can react to her.

Let's see if the "bird" is quicker then the eye.

Re: The streets

'Why do all the bad guys use skulls for effect?' Rival thought to himself as he watched from a building nearby the scene of the fighting. When he had first come to Weston City he had just wanted to get rid of some knock around level thugs and maybe a kingpin or two. He quickly realized this wasn't his old home town, the people weren't nearly as willing to fix things, and that being a one man army wasn't exactly easy with every other person getting into a silly get up. Of course he was one to talk; skull mask and body armor under a grey hoodie, but he felt like he could shed it quick enough to make it not that completely stupid.

Having watched the fight from the beginning, his brain was piecing together how these people did what they did, and how to fix it. A female and rather well off fighter were attempting to take out an idiot with a skull mask and a man who could probably make life hard for a street level hero. All the same, if allowed to continue much longer, they might have hurt someone other then themselves. As the skull man didn't look like he had a prayer in hell of beating the armored fighter, Rival decided to grab his side arms and point them squarely at Construct.

"Hey Bob the Builder! Can you stop bullets?" Rival said coming out of the buildings shadow with the guns drawn. It was only then that Rival really seemed to worry about the idea that all four of them might have been part of trap to kill like him.

Re: The streets

Peregrine's face clenches at her failure to stop "Wall-Boy".   She was still trying to scope out weaknesses when some yahoo shoots the guy in the back.    It was her fault, partially.   If she'd remembered her pepper spray, she probably could have disabled the guy.

Still, she was never one to look a  "gift crazed gunman" in the mouth.   She flies down to check "Bob" as soon as she was free of the shockface from "Skully".     She also used her enhanced senses to scope out the gunman.

A skull?  coincidence?  It WAS a popular motif, especially among the young people.

Re: The streets

The shockwave caught Dragon Fist...and sent him careening back several feet, landing on his chest.

Shaking his head...and then looking at Skullface with fierce determination, he used his wings to gain speed as he flew straight ahead at Skullface, both fists in front of him, preparing to bash the skull-faced one.

There seemed to be an unknown entrant to his little party. He appeared to have guns drawn, but didn't fire....

A mystery to be sorted out after dealing with Skullface...

Dragon Fist, seeing his success, then goes over to Skullface, and if he is still down, attempts to knock him out.

He'll then turn to assist Peregrine with Construct and whomever the new skull-faced guy...

Dragon!   I think I need to get THIS doofus to the hospital!   You need any help?

Peregrine scoops up Construct in her strong arms, using her mild telekinesis to try to stop the bleeding, somewhat.

The petite powerhouse begins to fly to the hospital, unless Lucas stops her.

Dragon Fist, making certain that Skullface was unconscious and waiting for the police, replied, "I've got this one covered. Though...I don't think it was our new friend who shot him. All the same, if he's hurt, get him to the hospital. I'll sort things out with our new friend here..."

He then looked in the direction of Rival, and beckoned him to come over...

At top speed, Peregrine flew to Weston Hospital, a place she was MUCH too familiar with.

Be careful, Lucas.  I'll be back soon.    She "thinks" to Dragon Fist.

Don't worry Friday. You know me...

The grin could be heard in Dragon Fist's telepathic voice back to Peregrine.

It seemed as if Weston City had a new aspiring hero...or anti-hero on the scene, and Dragon Fist wanted to see on which side he was. Maybe the skull-faced man was on the side of the angels after all...then again, maybe not....

Re: The streets

Dragon Fist tried to beckon the skull-faced fellow to come out...but it seemed like he was a bit...well...bashful.

He then turned away but kept a wary eye on his whereabouts.

Thinking to Peregrine...

Looks like things are wrapping up here, Friday. The SCU will take care of Skullface...I hope they can keep him locked up this time. This whole thing started though with him calling me and the Legacy out. Do you think he might be working for someone new? As for the new guy, he almost seems somewhat...shy...

Re: The streets

I'm leaving the hospital now.  Wall-Boy made it out of surgery, and is, hopefully, too groggy to cause much trouble.

I'm a bit curious about "Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle Dumber" too.  Are they just two yahoos trying to make a name for themselves and they're too lazy to do any actual crimes, or are they just testing the waters for someone else?

In Prisons, there's a term for someone who'll act out, to see how the guards will react.  Someone expendable who'll keep the "boss" safe from getting in trouble, even if they're caught.
It's called a "Crash Test Dummy".

I wonder who "The Wonder Twins" were "Crash Testing" for?

Your guess is as good as mine, Friday. Though I'm sure that whoever this new Mr. Big...or Ms. Big is, they'll make their intentions known soon enough. But you're right...someone could be out there...gauging our strengths...analyzing our fighting styles...Crash-test dummy, huh?

A slight chuckle is heard from Dragon Fist's telepathic voice...

And I'm sure whoever the guy was that "helped" us will be making his presense felt at some point too...

Dragon Fist then waited for Peregrine, still keeping an eye out for the "stranger", though he either A)disappeared completely or B)was still in the area somehow keeping his eyes on them.

======> from the hospital

Peregrine flew out over the city, keeping  an eye on anything out of the ordinary with her sharp vision.

Seeing Dragon Fist at the scene as the SCU cops were securing "Goon Thugington", the nimble Para gave a grin behind her mask.

She settled down lightly beside him.

So, another quiet night in Weston City, eh?  Her voice was full of humor.

The small woman chuckled.
Well, luckily WE'RE always up for a bit of a "safari", right?

She sidled up to the armored man, moving somewhat sexier than was probably appropriate.
So, any sign of our "third wheel", or do I have you all to myself?
Her voice, though full of good natured humor, was also very teasing and flirtatious.

"Definitely up for a safari...to deepest, darkest Weston..."

It REALLY was too bad Dragon Fist wore a helmet...otherwise his grinning expression would be betrayed when Peregrine sauntered over to him.

"Apparently our third wheel is VERY bashful. No sign of him. So...the answer is...YES...you do have me all to yourself..."

Since Peregrine and Dragon Fist were only "supposedly" romantically linked, Peregrine kept her distance and stays an arm's length away.

Well, Dragon, we can go on a quick patrol if you like?  I can put off my work at the office for a bit longer.

From experience, Dragon Fist knew that "patrol" had several meanings.
