Peregrine stood close, speaking for his ears only.
Well, my first impulse is to suggest going back to my place to make out, but I'm thinking that lunch might work.   It's been hours since breakfast after all.

Was it you who suggested Italian before, or am I daydreaming about you again.

Even through her mask, he would tell she was grinning impishly at him.

Dragon Fist laughed briefly.

With a smile in his voice, he then said,"No....it was me. There's that nice Italian place...I forget the name at the moment, but yeah that would be cool. And perhaps you are daydreaming about Dragons again, huh?"

Peregrine smiled.
Would you like to meet there, or come back with me to the office.   I have to warn you, my new receptionist is in today, so there'll be no hanky and/or panky today.

She laughed lightly.

"I can come back with you to the office if that's OK." He thought to himself for a second. "Have I met your new receptionist? And don't worry...I'll be good...unless you say otherwise at any time..."

The grin in Dragon Fist's voice was pretty hard to hide.

Peregrine smirks at him, then thinks for a moment.
You know, I don't think you HAVE met my new "girl".   Jamie Ellison.  She's a sweet kid, studying criminal justice at the University.    Very bright, but a little sheltered, so she decided to study the "seamy" side of criminal behavior by working for a "private eye". 

She gave a evil chuckle.
I'm thinking I'll have her studying "Chartered Accountancy" within a month.

Dragon Fist laughed at the Chartered Accountancy comment.

"She sounds like a good gal....just needs to be shown the other side of the world. Sounds like you made a good choice."

Dragon Fist gestured towards the air. "I'm ready when you are...but I'm sure you'll beat me in a straight-up race..." he said then laughing.

Lucas couldn't recall a time when he had laughed this much...

Stifling a giggle, Peregrine rose into the air.
Well then, the race is on.  Loser buys lunch!

Despite knowing that Dragon Fist will probably let her win regardless, Peregrine still cheats by taking off first.

Dragon Fist shook his head and smiled as Peregrine took off.

Heck, he DID say he was buying lunch anyway. She was definitely a lot of fun...

Extending out his wings, he took to the air for a spot that had almost become a second home for him as of late...

The second to last delivery went to another man who he dreaded giving it to, although not for the personal reasons that made him reluctant to deliver Richard Boyd's or Dr. Owens' suits. This man was an attorney. 'Pop Goes the Weasel' played through Rodger's thoughts as he parked the car and got out.

Looking at the parcel in his hands, he swallowed hard, and opened the door, entering the law firm of Dastardly, Borgia, and Booth. Well, like it or not, Mr. Dastardly was about to get a suit that he didn't have to go to court for.

Mr. Dastardly happens to be in the office, apparently going over some legal files.

As Rodger walks in, he looks up.

"Can I help you?"

"Richard Dastardly?" Rodger asked the extremely short attorney. The man was a dwarf. "I have a parcel to deliver."

"That's me..Richard Dastardly, humble attorney at law. Now what can I do for you? Oh the delivery..."

A spark of recognition came across his face.

"Well well how nice..."

Handing the parcel to Mr. Dastardly, Rodger said, "I hope you enjoy it, sir."
He fidgetted.

In an almost gleeful voice, he replied, "Thank you kind sir."

"You're welcome... although 'kind' might not be the right word for me in this case. " Rodger said, looking uncomfortable.

"I wouldn't worry about a thing," he replied with a grin.

"On your way...I am sure you have more deliveries..."

"Only one more... why shouldn't I worry? You're an attorney, and if I have to do something ghastly to you Lord only knows how much trouble I'd be in."

"well then...let me not keep you any further, sir..."

And then he went back to reviewing his legal files, and began to start humming..

Turning, Rodger left the law firm and went back to his car for the final delivery. The last man to be sentenced to this bizarre business. Then what? He didn't have an answer for that.

Driving away, he checked the address again. It hadn't changed (not that he'd honestly expected it to). Channel 5, the television station. And a reporter to wear this suit.

It was a decently long drive, for going between two places in the same city.
Arriving at the station, Rodger parked and retrieved the parcel from his trunk, then headed in to find the receptionist and ask where this man was.

The receptionist points down a long hallway. In one of the rooms, Rodger could hear what could be termed as "self-monologue"...

"THIS IS HARVEY DENTMAN, REPORTING FOR WESTON CHANNEL 5! IN TODAY'S NEWS, THE LEGACY IS AT IT AGAIN!"

Leaning against the wall across from that door, Rodger kept quiet, assuming that the man was recording audio for a story that would be airing soon.

He waited. Pop Goes the Weasel had stopped repeating in his head, and he was feeling a little better. He mentally checked the gemstones again. Several of them had mana now. What were those men up to? Making utter fools of themselves in public?

Dentman could hear someone walking up..and stopped his self-monologue.

"Who's there? Hello?"

"Mr. Dentman? I have a delivery for you..." Rodger said.

He looks at the package and then at Rodger.

"Ah yes...I have been expecting this ever since the signing of the...oh nevermind...I'm sure you already know the fine details..."

"Actually, I seem to be the only one of us who doesn't," Rodger said as he handed the parcel over.
