The Previous Night....

Phone call from Mirage...

The voices, two of them, are whispers at first.  Echoing back and forth her name.  One is most definetly Zeke's while the other is not known to her.  The voices become louder, speaking at a loud volume.  And soon all hell breaks loose, the sound of clashing swords and shouts of war drowning out the other two voices.  And yet, she can still hear them both clearly as well.

Mirages reply:

Zeek?  Pull yourself together and focus here.  This's important.  Where is Don?

The scene changes quickly.  The shouting is changed by some kind of muffled concern.  Finally a voice actually speaks, obviously not Zeke.

"Alright, I'll take my Don-Don to find him."

"I don't wanna go out there.  It's cold out there, I'll freeze to death."

In an obvious Don Knots voice.

Mirages Reply.

Focus, Zeke! Mirage was getting a little frustrated but her voice calmed.  Zeke?  Darling?  I don't want to interrupt whatever it is you're doing but can't you just find a little bit of time to help me out?  I'd be very grateful

Background noise was gone now and there was a quiet grumble that was undoubtedly Zeke.  More unknown sounds are given as a few mutters are given, finally a startled snore can be heard.

Mmmmm   gah...  happened again...  wait.  Shit.  Ugh...  you still there, Mirage?  I swear I need to find a way to turn this phone off when I'm asleep.  What's up?

Sorry to wake you, sweetie, but I need to find Don.  Can you trace his cell?

If he's using it, I can triangulate him.  But knowing him that's probably the first thing he got rid of.  I'll see what I can do for ya, though.

He looks for a few minutes, and then returns Mirage's call.

Sorry, he either isn't using it, or he dropped it.  With the day we had he's probably sleeping somewhere.  I'll do what I can to keep looking for him, but the more time it takes for me to find him, the less of a chance of me doing so.  Sorta dealing with the first 48 here and all.

I just got out of the registration process.  I can't really say much about it though.  They were sorta expecting one of us to show up and really it was just a formality.  I guess that's the price for celebrity.  From the sounds of things though, I think they've just restarted the DPA.  The man that was a lot of help to us when we were first getting together, he was one of the founders.  Sounds like they've taken some of his projects out of mothballs, if they ever were.

Registration went very smoothly, I think the only person who paid much attention to me was the poor receptionist I had to harass to get the paperwork!

Interesting, you didn't get interviewed by anyone?  I got ushered into an office with four military.  Two of them were paras I think.  Atleast one of them were atleast.  Definetly didn't want to mess with the one, even if she wasn't a para.  A lot is still up in the air though.

Nope.  All I had to do was fill out some paperwork and hand it back in, and then I was told I was free to go.  Guess I didn't look remarkable enough to merit an interview.  Which, I admit, I DON'T precisely look intimidating.

Eh, maybe that will change.  I think for me there was reasons with the club I'm involved in.  What are your plans for the rest of the day?  I have a few things I'm working on.  Nothing dangerous, but better done alone.
