Re: Weston Superior Court.

Meg glided over when she saw Ozzy, and said quietly "Hey there, Ozzy.  I thought I might want to show some support for my poor landlord.  How are you doing?"  She didn't mention the coffee date she was supposed to have gone on, and hadn't, yet.

Re: Weston Superior Court.

There was more shouting as Hunter made his way into the courtroom The crowd stayed outside as the door closed behind the accused vigilantie anyone who needed to be in there was already in there
Outside not far from the collected New Age Defenders a reporter woman and Camera man are reporting on the events.
"And here we are at the historic trial of Donald Derring former Army Special Forces Sergeant who is rumored to have brutally killed dozens of people in a one man war on crime which has wreaked a toll on our fair city. As you can see here there is a large crowd gathered some in support and others in condemnation of his acts. We'll spend some time talking to a few of the m to get their opinions."

Re: Weston Superior Court.

"I'll live, but I swear, I'd be more comfortable if I was naked. I hate dressing up. I'd say take a picture for proof, but knowing Grandpa here, I'll be in this thing a lot. What's up with you, Meg? How've you been?" he said, managing a smile despite a discomfort.

Oswald the Elder sighed and shook his head. "I do apologize for his rudeness, Miss Kattakara, but it seems the boy has forgotten his manners. He tends to do that a lot."

Ozzy rolled his eyes and muttered, "Sweet Zombie Jesus, not this again..."

This was met with a quick, sharp rap on the shoulder with the head of Grandpa's cane.

"Mind your tongue, young man! There's a lady in our presence!"

Meg shook her head, and said "It's okay.  Trust me, I've heard a lot worse!  My ears are very good, as Ozzy may or may not have mentioned.  And I can speak 'french' in four languages."  Her wry smile was a clear invitation to relax.

Re: Weston Superior Court.

Dragon Fist had spent most of the last week searching for the whereabouts of his brother (presumably with no success). It appeared that The Dark Champion had stooped to a new low...this battle had usually been between just the two of them, but now...

But...the trial of Hunter was in commencement...and Dragon Fist knew that Hunter would need all the help and support he could get...even if he himself wasn't going to admit it.

Nodding at Meg and Ozzy, he took a seat not far from them as the trial made ready to begin...

Re: Weston Superior Court.

The trial began with very convincing opening statements from both parties though the court seemed more interested in the Prosecution's. A few anonymous witnesses are called behind a screen. The Defense then calls their first witness Dragon Fist.

Re: Weston Superior Court.

Dragon Fist sees Captain JOrdan and a few members of the SCU some of Derring Incorporated's staff, a few members of the outlying hero community including Rocket, the head of Mask Co. the corporate superheroes and New Yorks most popular hero, The Leather Avenger. When DF makes it to the witnesss stand a mman stands before him with a bible and does the usual swearing in. The defense Lawyer moves over to the stand. "For those of us unfamiliar, could the witness identify himself to the court?"

Rodger had come to the courthouse, dressed in a conservative navy business suit and striped tie, with a heavier overcoat and an old fedora as protection from the cold.

Unless someone knew about him, he showed no outward sign of being anything more than a middle-aged man in the crowd, although if asked why he was here he readily admitted to being one of Derring's tenants, and concerned over whether or not his family would still have a place to live after this trial.

A figure wearing boots, jeans and a black hoodie with his hood up was right behind Rodger. It was the height of a young teenager and appeared to be male. "This is the courthouse, eh? Well then..." The figure sounded like a young teen as well. He looked around as he followed Rodger to the courthouse.

That voice behind him sounded familiar. Half turning, Rodger looked to see who it was. And did a double take. Yes, it was a familiar voice, although encountering the young man in such a fashion took the teacher by surprise.

"Hello again," he greeted Draco softly.

The young man stopped when Rodger half-turned, and was surprised to see Rodger. "Hey, you the guy from that registration office? Here for that trial I heard from some peds, huh? I'm here to check it out, too. By the way, what's your name? I'm Jason, but my nick's Draco. Feel free to call me either, since I won't mind." Draco seemed cheerful after seeing Rodger; he didn't extend his hand for a handshake, however, as if he was hiding it for some reason.

Re: Weston Superior Court.

"Yes, that is where we met before," Rodger agreed, his tone dull and leaden. His opinion of the entire supers registration idea had taken an enormous nosedive after seeing the waking nightmare of his own registration card, and had yet to recover from that hit. His tone was more friendly and normal when he introduced himself. "I'm Rodger."

Re: Weston Superior Court.

Oswald the Elder, whose phone had been on vibrate, excused himself quietly before heading outside to answer the phone call.

Ozzy the Younger wondered what was up, but decided that it was best to remain where he was. Those who poked their noses into Grandpa's business uninvited often got said noses shut in a door.

As the prosecutor gets ready to start his cross-examination, Dragon Fist observes him closely.

This was difficult to go into however. Flamethrower did die by Dragon Fist's hands later on...
