Re: Oswald Gysbourne Sr.s residence

Gysbourne Manor lay a good ways out of Weston proper, where all the rich people had their big, expensive houses. It was a three-story affair, with a beautiful-yet-weather resistant exterior. The grounds were well-kept by a company who did several people's homes in the neighborhood, with small bushes near the house and big deciduous trees further out. There was a single large pine in the front yard, in the middle of the driveway's roundabout, currently decorated for Christmas.

The inside was similar to the outside, beautiful but sensible, reflecting the owner's views. The layout was fairly common, with a large entry hall just inside the front door, with a wing of rooms to either side and a grand staircase to ascend or descend as necessary. Straight ahead lay the large dining room, usually used for when Mr. Gysbourne was having guests.

Within the house were several guest rooms, a library and office, and quarters for the three staff that Mr. Gysbourne kept: a butler, a housekeeper, and a driver-slash-bodyguard. The last was largely necessary due to men like the late Mr. Bertelli, whom Mr. Gysbourne refused to give in to.

Unbeknownst to any but Mr. Gysbourne, and the government by now, there was also a fourth level, though it was much smaller than the others. There was a secret door in the office part of the library that lead to Mr. Gysbourne's collection of magical tomes, his laboratory, and any other magical paraphernalia that could identify him as anything other than a normal, average elderly lawyer.

Re: Oswald Gysbourne Sr.s residence

>>> Time Skip >>>

After the police had come to pick up the supervillains, Ozzy took the broken cell phone by Legacy's new base, hoping that Hotwire or Machinesmith could do something with it. He also got 'bugged', a sensation which Ozzy described as 'slimy, yet oddly satisfying'.

Afterwards, he'd come back home for some well deserved rest. His grandfather was ecstatic to hear that he'd caught Le Carde, and they'd had some serious discussion about the job offer. Given the late hour at which he'd gotten home, Grandpa decided to call the item broker back in the morning, and give him the good news. Ozzy, meanwhile, set up a cot down in Grandpa's lab, since that room was warded against teleportation, scrying, and other such things. Grandpa, meanwhile, set up an alarm spell on the inside of the secret door that would wake both him and Ozzy up if anyone tried to open it.

In the middle of the night, Ozzy got up to answer 'nature's call'. When he was done and heading back to bed, he sat on the edge of the cot and started thinking. Should he open the Tome? Lecarde had told him about his potential both times they'd met, and Ozzy started to wonder, what could he really do? He was also curious about the Tome itself, and whether or not it was really intelligent. It hadn't really done much up to this point, and he was sort of dubious about it.

Curiousity got the best of him, and he decided to open the cover, though not before putting up his rune armor, just in case.

Re: Oswald Gysbourne Sr.s residence

Ozzy nodded, saying, "Yes. Let me explore your secrets, and gain the knowledge and power therein."

If what his Grandpa had told him was right, then the Tome accepting him was definitely a good thing. After all, one of the heroes of the old days had used this, right? Part of the same generation that the original Excel had been a part of. Maybe it made sense that this tome was also being passed down to a younger generation.

Re: Oswald Gysbourne Sr.s residence

Ozzy grinned, "I don't plan to 'share', I'm not a quitter, and I know. I'm committed to my path, and I'm committed to defending those who can't defend themselves, even if it costs me my life. Why do you think I chased you down and took you from Lecarde? Even though he was older and more experienced than me, I knew he'd hurt a lot of people if I didn't."

With that, Ozzy signed his name using his paint, signing his name as Ozzy Gysbourne, a.k.a. Painter.

"So, what should I call you?"
