Van Diemien House
A large home with three stories and a clear sign of wealth, this is the home of Eleanor Van Diemien, one of Weston's wealthy socialites, and a major shareholder in the Weston power company. There is a large garden in front, and in the back yard there is a terrace, party house, pool, and hedge maze with roses interspersed.
Eleanor had been walking the Pomeranians, two beautiful foxy-red colored dogs no bigger than seven pounds each, in the hedge-maze. They liked to walk there, and it was quite safe. She usually spent an hour or so there each afternoon, claiming her 'quiet time' helped her to make better business decisions. So when she was a bit late, Otello didn't think much. But when Foxy and Scarlet came running up to the house, he was alarmed. Eleanor never left them running loose, much less loose with their leashes dragging!!
Otello waited, and when the phone call came in, he put it on speakerphone and recorded the ransom demand. Then he called Mister Derring.
