Re: Airport and Fort Worth

OOC: Coolness.  thanks.

The limosine pulled into the Weston Airport and drove up to a private hangar.  Inside the hangar was a Gulfstream G550 executive jet aircraft.

The limo rolled to a stop a short walk from the aircraft.  The aircraft was a little over 90 feet in length with a wingspan that almost matched its length.  It had a low wing with the tips raised up and two jet turbines were mounted near the tail.  The aircraft looked to be in spotless condition.

Just outside of the main door stood the crew.  There were two pilots, a man and a woman and a female flight attendant.  All were wearing crisp flight uniforms.  They appeared to be waiting to greet their passengers.

Thomas parked the limosine and opened the door for Lucas to get out.  He then pulled something out of the trunk of the car and opened the door for Helena.  He took a minute to help her into the wheelchair and then went to collect the luggage.

OOC:  Found this awesome animation for the aircraft.

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

"Thanks again Thomas,"Lucas said as he exited the limo.

It had been a while since Lucas had flown in an airplane. The last time was when the East Coast Regional Karate Championships took place. While Lucas didn't finish in first, he did place in the top five.

However this was no mere tournament they were going to. They were walking into a potentially dangerous situation. One that may have taken the lady love of his life..Friday Winters..away from him. And Helena was rock solid, standing by both of them in times of need. Then a thought entered Lucas' mind.

Was it possible to love two women? There was no denying that Lucas and Friday loved each other. It was very evident that they were very much in love. As of late, however, Helena became a friend, a stalwart ally, and...more. The kiss they shared in the alleyway, though used primarily as a distraction, was indeed very nice. Something that they both enjoyed.

Shaking himself from his momentary thought process, Lucas nodded towards the flight crew as he prepared to board the plane.

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

While Thomas went and grabbed the few articles of luggage that had been packed, Helena rolled her wheelchair up to the waiting air crew.  The pilot came forward.

"Lady Helena.  It's a pleasure to see you as always."

Helena smiled and shook the mans hand.  "Hello Bill.  I'm sorry for the short notice but there's some business in Fort Worth that requires my attention.  It was very last minute.  How are your wife and kids?"

"They're doing fine.  Linda has her piano recital in two weeks."  The pilot said proudly.  Another man came out of the plane and took the luggage from Thomas and brought it into the plane.  "We'll be ready to leave in 10 minutes, just as soon as we have you and your passenger on board."

"Excellent.  Thank you, Thomas.  I will give you a call when we are on our way back." Helena said to her driver.  She rolled her wheelchair up to a flat ramp and the female flight attendant pressed a button.  The two women chatted about nothing in particular as Helena's wheelchair was lifted up and into the plane.

The flight attendant turned to Lucas, a professional smile on her face.  She gestured to the ramp.  "Welcome aboard sir.  My name is Sandy.  Please let me know if you require anything during the flight."

"How do you do, Sandy?" Lucas replied with his own professional smile as he made his way up the ramp and into the plane.

He then went inside and found a seat. It had been some time since he had flown without using his own powers. It was turning out to be a most unique experience.

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

Helena slid out of her wheelchair and into a seat, making sure to buckle herself in.  Sandy went to both Helena and Lucas to check the seat belts were locked and then went to take her own seat in the forward cabin.

"We'll be leaving for the flight line in a few minutes.  Our estimated time to Fort Worth is an hour and a half." The pilots voice came over the internal speakers.

Helena turned to Lucas once Sandy had left the cabin.  The jets engines whined to life and the aircraft started to move.

"How much do you know about what's happening in Fort Worth?"

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

Lucas replied, "The information I received was from a person named Joe Hernandez...he told me to call him when we arrived at the airport...he was working with Friday on the case. From what I've been told...Friday was..investigating Paul Randall's missing body, turns out some cult got a hold of it, summoned some kind of dark god into his body and...she fought against it...there was a big explosion...and both of their bodies are missing..."

For a moment, Lucas looked distant. He was very much worried for his lady love. But he had to be strong. And he had good support, because Helena was here as well.

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

"Hmpf.  A cult you say?" Helena said thoughtfully.  She remembered the day when she had convinced Friday to let Pauls family take his comatose body out of the Weston hospital and away from Friday.  If she had been silent, would Paul and Friday be alive and well right now instead of presumably dead?  Friday and Lucas would have been spending more time together, that was for sure, and Helena might not have become as close to Lucas.

"I'm sure that you would have felt it if Friday had been killed.  You two are very close and her last thoughts would have been of you.  No doubt she would have tried to touch your mind one last time.  If that didn't happen, then she's still alive."  Helena was conflicted about that result.  She'd love Friday to be alive and back with Lucas, but on the other hand if Friday was dead, would she have Lucas to herself?

Helena looked out the window of the plane.  Such thoughts were selfish.  Friday was a better woman for Lucas, the fates had already determined that, and Helena was fine with that.  Lucas deserved to be with someone who wasn't as badly damaged as Helena was.

"You said that Joe Hernandez had more details for us?"

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

Lucas looked at Helena, with tears welling up in his eyes. Truly Helena was more than a friend...more than a sister...with her undying support.

"Thanks Helena...that means a lot...I've been so worried about the situation that I never considered that she would try to reach out to me with her telepathy. Friday's lucky to have you...and so am I..."

He placed his hands over Helena's and smiled. If he hadn't met Friday first, perhaps he and Helena would have gotten together. She certainly deserved someone to make her happy.

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

Helena looked down at Lucas' hand on hers, and couldn't help but smile in spite of herself.

"I know how much Friday loves you Lucas.  I'm sure that she would have been trying to touch your mind if only just to feel the contact." She said, looking up at him.  "I just want to make sure that you two have every opportunity for happiness."

Helena reached into her purse and pulled out a tissue.  She leaned over intending to dry his tears but he was just out of comfortable reach.  Even if she wasn't restrained by the seatbelt, her useless legs might have caused her to topple out of her seat.  Instead she offered him the tissue.  "Here.  Can't have you meeting Joe with red eyes now can we?"

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

The trip to Fort Worth is mainly uneventful no sky terrorists or lowflying supers to throw a kink in the flight. After an hour and a half the plane lands at Fort Worth.

Lucas accepted the tissue from Helena. "No..I can't meet him with red eyes." he said, wiping his tears.

He sighed for a moment, then smiled at Helena.

"You know, I've heard it said that a friend sticks closer than a sibling...I consider you to be much more than a friend Helena..so much more..and I am grateful for having known you.."

He then looked outside and could see that they were coming in for a landing.

"All right....once we land, I'll contact Ramirez."

Re: Airport and Fort Worth

Helena looked at Lucas for a long moment, her expression soft.  There were times when she really wished that he didn't say things like that, that she was more than a friend.  It just made things that much harder for her to let him go to Friday.  She wasn't sure that she only wanted to be a friend to Lucas, that she wanted to be much more than friends, and that wasn't fair to Friday.  Luckily the pilots announcement that they were landing saved her from having to reply.

Once the plane had landed, Helena went through the long process of climbing into her wheelchair and having the chair lowered from the plane.  She had packed relatively lightly for this trip so she was able to just rest her bag in her lap.  She calmly waited for Lucas to call Joe and figure out where they needed to go.

Lucas looked at Helena again, then made his way after her off of the plane.

Once he had acquired his bag, he then took out his cell phone..

Lucas hung up the phone after talking with Joe. Turning to Helena, he said, "All right...Joe should be here in about ten minutes. He's going to meet us at the Dunkin Donuts inside."

He then took a long look at the airport. This place was HUGE.

"Hell...it might take us the full 10 minutes just to find it ourselves.."

"Dunkin' Donuts?" Helena repeated, not bothering to hide her dislike for the chain.  "Of course meeting us at a five star restaurant was out the question.  Alright.  We'd best get moving then.  It'll take us 10 minutes to find the place.  Hopefully it'll be wheelchair accessible."

She started to roll towards the main terminal of the airport.  "Do you know this man that we're meeting?"

Lucas walked along with Helena as they made their way to the airport.

"What I do know of him is that his name's Joe Ramirez...and he was working with Friday on finding out what was happening with the body of Paul Randall...he apparently was with her when all of....this...went down and when their bodies both disappeared. I'm not one to be overly suspicious of someone but I'm keeping my eye on this one..and not turning my back to him."
