"Sure, not tommorow though we have plenty to do already." Bill paused looking thoughtful. "So were we, will we be, good parents to you? Your dad and I? You had everything you needed? We didn't leave you alone too much to save the world?"

  Bella said gently "Dad, you both did your very best, and I never once, when I was smaller, or even now, doubted that you loved me dearly, and that I was the most precious thing in your lives.  But I also knew, because Mommy explained it, that your jobs were to go save the world.  It was what you did for a living instead of going to the factory or working at a store or something."  She caught his hand, and held it in hers, and said lovingly "You're my Daddy.  You love me very much, or you will.  You always have as long as I've been alive, so it's sort of a 'constant' for me."

Bill smiled squeezing her hand lightly. "I'm glad, I don't think I could have lived with myself otherwise. Your always welcome here Bella, this is your home as much as it is your Dads'. Not sure how we're going to handle things once your babyself comes into the picture, But we'll figure something out."

  Bella smiled, and admitted "I'm not perfect, but you did a good job.  I'm still human, and young, and, well, I'm 15."

"Well your birthday IS coming up, and I don't see why we can't treat it like your another year older. You had to wait till you were 16 till you started dating, well january first is in a few days. If you DO find a nice boy, one that won't try and take advantage of you, I won't get in the way, though you'll have to get your other Dad's opinion on it. But I don't see why not, and if a boy DOES try and take advantage I'll dangle him by the leg from three thousand feet up."

  Bella giggled, and said "I really hadn't even thought about a boyfriend, Dad.  It really hadn't crossed my mind, since, you know, you had both forbidden dating before I was sixteen.  And, well, I think I sort of scare the boys."

"Well if you want the options there. As long as he's a good guy I won't mind. MY Dad, your grandpa does not approve of your other Dad at all, same with his parents. They can't set aside their own biased opinions, can't pull their heads out of their asses long enough to see how much we love eachother. I promise never to do that to you. As long as you care about him, and he you, I won't get in the way."

  Bella smiled, and said "Okay.  But we have to get one that's not scared of the fact that I'm your daughter first."

BIll chuckled. "Yeah that might be a bit difficult. That and the whole, from the future thing. Probably best to keep that part to ourselves, to avoid unneccessary questions."

  Bella giggled, and said "Yeah.  Might end up really confusing them.  Dad, I really want to know.  WHY do people send you that horrible mail??!!"

Bill frowned looking down taking a moment to compose himself. " A couple weeks ago your Dads announced they were, a couple, on television. There was a HUGE media fallout most people aren't happy about getting saved by Gay superheroes so they send these letters. Your other Dad thinks its best to ignore them, but I read every one, usually when your other Dad is asleep, I usually end up crying"

  Bella frowned, and said "Don't they understand you're the Guardian of the Earth?  It doesn't MATTER if you are gay!  Hells, Dad, it wouldn't matter if you slept with MOUNTAIN GOATS!!  You're the Guardian of the Earth, not just some person!  You're human, and you got picked to do a job that's hard, and dangerous!  When I come from, you're one of the most beloved, respected heroes out there!"  He could tell the hate mail outraged her to a very great degree.

"The fact that someone got picked by th EARTH ITSELF to protect it is a hard pill for most people to swallow. Not a lot of people believe it. But the gay thing is sort of a hot button in this time"

  Bella shook her head, and said "Dad, I love you.  I don't get people who don't understand love is love!  I never have.  That's something you and Dad-D have always told me, that if you really DO love someone, it doesn't matter if they're a man, or a woman or a THING, as long as it really is love.  And sex isn't necessarily love!  You can love without sex, and have sex without love.  And in the grand scheme of things, who or what ONE person sleeps with, is irrelevant!!"

Bill smiled faintly. "Unfortunately a LOT of people disagree with you your grandfather among them. Speaking of which, do you want to come with me to meet your grandmother tomorrow?"

  Bella frowned, and said "Umm, I think you said Dad-D gets me tomorrow, since you get me all night.  That way he gets to know me too.  I don't actually NEED to sleep, so it's not going to bother me to not get any sleep, in all truth."

Bill nodded. "Yeah I did, though she IS going to want to meet you. She told me 'Every mother wants grandchildren someday' I doubt she expected one so soon."

  Bella half smiled, and said "All I can say about that is, that I hope she doesn't find me too shocking."

Bill chuckled. "Yeah me too. Though with the time she's had of late, I wouldn't be surprised if she just took it in stride."

  Bella smiled, and said "That wouldn't be too bad.  I know I look a lot like you."

BIll smiled and nodded. "That you do, the spitting image of both your Dads with a few, key differences"

  Bella giggled, and said "Yeah, Mom said she thought I was a very good blending of the two of you."

"Well I think your much prettier than either of us but thats just me." Bill said with a laugh. "You called Painter, Uncle Ozzy, do you know ALL the New Age Defenders?"

  Bella smiled, and said "I think I do.  The roster may not be the same in this time as it was when I was growing up."

BIll smiled. "I'm glad we stay together that long. We've had our issues like any group of teens in close proximity, but we're more a family than a team. A bunch of dysfunctional brothers and sisters."
