The Derring condominiums continued.

Jeff lay in contemplation. His sister had found out his secret. And she was using to potentially call in a favor...whatever that was...

Careless, Jeff. Really fuckin' stupid...first these crazy dreams...then the Defenders are starting to fall apart...and now this....AND I've got more graduation stuff coming up. Geez, can my life get any more complicated?

The woman had throughly torn the place aprat and still had not found what she was looking for The woman stomped her foot and cursed a bit. Sticking her head through the wall Wraith saw no one in the halls and quickly mad e her wayto the stairwell before falling through the stairs. "He is not going to be happy" she muttered to herself.

Almost at the bottom of the stairs, and taking them with slow, unhurried casualness, Rodger had a glimpse of something moving above him. But he assumed it was just another tenant.

Jeff felt a buzzing in his head. It almost sounded like...Ozzy?

The woman keeps moving falling past Reoger through the stairwell her back is to him so she does not notice the shcoolteacher. She then stops at the bottom looking around one last time before she spots Rodger. She stops like a deer in headlights waiting to see what the man will do.

He stopped, a 'what in the world??' expression on his face as someone's back suddenly showed up between him and the exit a few steps ahead. Now if her front had shown up first, he might have passed it off as poor attention on his part, but her backside had definitely been there.

"Pardon?" he finally got out, regarding her like a deer in headlights too.

The woman steps forward coming very close to Rodger. The woman is masked and is wearing a corset and leather pants as well as long gloves. "I"m just passing through," She says sultrily, "You won't be telling anybody you saw me will you?"

"I beg your pardon? I don't believe we've met..." he answered, getting more worried about that mask. Another superhero living in the same building? This was beginning to be ridiculous.

Although her taste in clothes reminded him more of anime dominatrixes than of a sensible costume this time of the year.

She smiled "I'm glad we understand eachotehr." and with that she fell into the floor dissapearing from view.

One finger went to Rodger's lower lip as he regarded the floor. All right, that was creepy. Hopefully she hadn't ended up in the water heater.

He continued down the remaining steps, but jumped over where the woman had been as if stepping on her possible grave was bad luck.

Proceeding out to the parking lot, Rodger unlocked his car door, got in, and closed the door, buckled his seat belt, and started off for the grocery store.

Finishing getting re-dressed Bill l9istened for amoment. "I don't think Meg is back yet, SO what do we want to do today?  I'm still prety ful from breakfast but if you want we can grab some luch." He opened the door and walked out into the living room.

  Darren considered, and said "Yeah, I think I could do lunch.  What have you got in mind, love?"  He'd not yet put his shirt back on, so he sat there looking rather unremarkable, except for the sweetly happy smile he was giving Ex.

"Depends whether you want ot go as Bill and Darren or as Excelsior and fluid. We could go-" Bill stops himself midsentence. "And I just realized both of us  have been cut off financially."

  Darren said "Umm.  Not . . . totally.  I have about a thousand dollars saved up for college . . . but we can use it for whatever.  My parents aren't on the account."

"I don't want to spend your college money you need that." Ex looks towards the kitchen. "I kinda feel bad rooting around in Megs fridge when she's not home though."

  Meg came strolling in, and said "Don't feel bad about rummaging for edibles.  Lucas is off to Texas.  Which means Legacy's basically all tied up!"

"Texas? Whats he doing in Texas?" Bill asked a little confused.

  Meg headed into the kitchen as she said "Apparently Friday's gone missing.  She went to Texas to check on something, ran into trouble, and has disappeared.  So Lucas is headed to find out.  You two should know anything in the fridge or freezer is fair game unless it has a label on it saying 'Do Not Open!"

"OH wow." Bill said as he followed Meg into the kitchen. "I hope she's okay." Bill leaned against a counter. "Meg I think we, THe new Age Defenders need to get together and have a bit of a discussion bout the future, I feel like we've been getting by on a lot of luck iand its high time we got togehter and got things discussed."

  Meg nodded, and said "Yes, we should.  So, do we want to call everyone in here?  And how hungry are you, Bill?"

Jeff "hung up" from his mental conversation with Ozzy. Truly the young man was mature ahead of his years.

Maybe he should be the one graduating high school this year, and not me, Jeff thought to himself.

At least today was Sunday. A nice kick around day, because he didn't have to work at the bookstore (the mall was EXTREMELY slow on Sundays, and they wanted to save money).

What to do? What to do? Besides wring my little sister's neck...

  Meg snagged two casserole dishes (with the casseroles already ready, just needing warmed up) and put them in the oven, the stove already warming up and opening for her.  She said "Well, I let everyone else know that we have a meeting, but it's a non-emergency meeting.  I'm making breakfast for all."

Jeff got dressed, and waved to his parents and his sister as he exited.

"I'm goin' over to Meg's...be back in a bit..."

And he then went the short distance to Meg's place and knocked on her door.
