Re: Weston P.D.

Rodger looked at Don, then at Captain Scott. "Should I just cast it at any random gem, and pray I get lucky a second time, than?"

OOC: Did Captains Scott and Jordan complete their phone call by this time? I never saw Captain Jordan responding anywhere, and being in the room, well, I would have thought we'd both overhear it.

Captain Scott frowned as he was unable to get a hold of Captain Jordan.

"Not sure where Jordan is but from what Derring said, it sounds like some seriously bad news."

Re: Weston P.D.

Family? With Ellen's loss, I didn't know he had any left, Rodger wondered, still unaware of Diantha's existence.

He sat in his seat quietly, listening to what was said with half an ear, but most of his thoughts were on trying to remember things from the day he'd delivered the suits. If he could recall peoples' numbers, and test multiple gems, he might be able to figure out a pattern and be able to make a more accurate guess at which gem was the bond to Johnny Nickel.

Sapphire 2....Nickel's gem was able to come up for Rodger as he searched.

Not paying attention to Rodger, Captain Scott continued to hold the phone while Don conversed with his family.

Re: Weston P.D.

Standing up, and moving a bit away (as best the office allowed) from the phone call, Rodger looked for a decent place to summon the next scorpion centaur, this Girtabilu creature that Don was at the moment.

Deciding on a spot, Rodger returned to his spell menu, the same spell still on top to use again, and clicked. He aimed at the gem be believed (hoped) was Jon Nickel's. "Summon Girtabilu!"

And the spell animation repeated, as it had before.

OOC: I assume you mean the second sapphire gem, the first in the small ones? Since prisoner #2 was Captain Scott himself. Msg #12 in this same thread.

Rodger grinned at Johnny the scorpion monster. "Shhh..." he warned in a low voice, "Don's on the phone with someone who isn't one of us."

"Has something been going on?" he continued in a half-whisper. "Captain Scot said some of us weren't answering when he tried to get in touch. We were afraid you might have been, well, in trouble."

"Well, the 'I'm here' part was me summoning you. How'd you get in this dark place? What did it sound like the voice was saying?" Rodger said to Nickel, still keeping his voice down.

"How peculiar. The light of truth? That sounds like something up a religious alley," Rodger mused, crossing one arm over his chest and resting the other on it as he fingered his mustache, thinking. "Once they're done with the phone, tell Captain Scott everything you can remember. You weren't the only clown kidnapped recently." He sounded worried, and he was.

Rodger also waited for Don and Captain Scott to finish. He sat back down and worried, thinking over what he knew of and praying that there were sensible, mundane explanations for the kidnappings.

Re: Weston P.D.

Rodger quirked an eyebrow, but said nothing. For all he knew, the officer that Captain Scott was trying to reach could be on the toilet, in a meeting, questioning a suspect, kidnapped too, or deep in trying to deal with a critical case. He was just a civilian, despite being the Wizard, and didn't know much about the internal niceties of the police department or the habits of individual cops.

Rodger stayed quiet in his chair, listening. For some reason part of his thoughts went veering off into the wild blue yonder, wondering (in the privacy of his skull) what the NADs were up to tonight.
