Re: Weston P.D.

"Lead on, Darling." Mirage sat up from the desk and followed behind Nokomis.

As she walked, thin wisps of crimson smoke wrapped themselves around her, changing her appearance.  Her hat and veil disappeared.  Her long slinky dress morphed into a knee length skirt and blouse.  Her facial features blurred for an instant as they changed as well.  Mirage thought that it would draw less attention if she were not in costume.  Better to not have to worry about Nokomis attracting attention either.

Re: Weston P.D.

Nokomis brought her to the Fingerprints Division, and there they BOTH learned that the Finger's apartment had been broken into and they had been murdered.  For their finger, apparently!  But the face that went to the fingerprints, the person that had broken in and killed the woman . . . that was a face Mirage knew.

Re: Weston P.D.

Mirages eyes narrowed and her fists clenched so tightly that her nails threatened to pierce her palm.  That man again.  Her own personal demon and one that she would happily exorcise with her stiletto heels into the mans heart.

"What do you have on him?" she asked flatly.  Mirage felt the urge to put her fist through the monitor that displayed the mans face.  Mirages usual sensual nature had disappeared the instant that she saw the mans face.  Nokomis would probably see her stiffen up though she tried to hide it.  Her voice was stern, almost murderous.  "Give me any leads and I'll look into this."

Re: Weston P.D.

Nokomis handed her a woefully thin file, and said "Lots of bookings, no convictions.  Slipperier than an eel.  Everything we have on him is in there.  Keep that copy, it's all on computers, so I can print more."

Mirage took the offered file and opened it up to read through it.  There must be something in the file that would give her a clue to where her enemy was.

It listed several rent-by-the-week addresses, all in the same general area of town, and all of them cheap.  He seemed to favor the seedy, dark side of town.  She could probably find him, if she looked around there a bit.

Mirage read over the file, memorizing what locations she could.

I'm getting closer to finding you, you sick bastard.

"Thanks for the information, Nokomis.  Now I have a good place to start looking for this psycho.  Let me know if you hear anything else about this guy or any other similar victims."

----> from Hospital (post-timeskip, Dec. 27th)

For Rodger, it had been confusing, waking up in a roughly spherical room with myriad runes all over the walls and multi-colored energies zipping through the runic circuitry. No doors, windows, or any sign any had ever existed, but there was a sign. And it said, "If you can read this, cast YOU GOT BETTER, as soon as possible. Target the onyx gem at the bottom of the selection screen."

Doing so, the runes around him reacted, the ceiling irising open and the floor under his feet rising like a hydraulic lift carrying him up. At least, from his point of view that's how it worked. To the outside world, looked the same as when he'd revived Don Derring via this same spell.

Returned to physical life, Rodger found himself in a small room, in his Clumsy Charlie clown form. Several cameras and monitors were along the walls, along with other equipment he didn't immediately put a name to. He was standing in the middle of a complex pentagram inlaid into the floor. Somehow, he had a feeling he'd been in here before, but couldn't place it.

There was a door, a normal door. And when the clown tested the knob, it turned. So he opened it, looking outside. He couldn't see, yet, the sign on the outside of the door warning people that the room beyond (the one he'd appeared in) was for Project Life Restraint personnel only.

----> to Derring Condominiums with officers, after a short time.

Dragon Fist landed at the police station, knowing where to go to see Detective Martinez. Once there, he waited for Mirage on the roof before entering.

Mirage landed on the rooftop shortly after Dragon Fist had arrived.  She could have teleported them both directly there of course, but she wanted to take the rooftop route just to see if they could find anything.

"Let's go and see Detective Martinez.  I he can give us some names to go with the faces, then we'll have our first few 'interviewees'."

Re: Weston P.D.

Dragon Fist nodded, then proceeded to enter the station. Once inside, he made a beeline for where the SCU was, specifically the desk of one Detective Esteban Martinez. Perhaps Nokomis would also be here, and maybe she might also have some resources to fall back on as well.

Esteban came walking out from behind his desk, and nodded in acknowledgement of Nokomis' question.

"So...we've got Dragon Fist AND Mirage...in the station...at the same time? There must be some shit about to hit the fan."

Dragon Fist nodded back at Detective Martinez. "Yeah St--....Detective...we're looking for some bad people who have done some bad things to others, and we intend to teach them the error of their ways..."

He turned back to Mirage. "Care to fill them in, Mirage?"

"Of course, darling." Mirage said as she misted in sit on the corner of Nokomis' desk.  She picked up a pen and paper and wrote out the names of the men who had hurt Seer.  She handed the paper to Nokomis.

"The long and short of it is this.  There's a man known as Builder who has recently come into Weston.  He likes to cut people up and see how they work and his favourite victims are paras.  We need to stop him.  The men on this list are linked to him.  We need you to find them for us."

Esteban looked down at the list that Mirage had provided and nodded. "Normally I don't advocate going outside of police channels...but...sounds like this asshole really did a number on some folks. C'mon Nokomis...let's see what we can turn up.

Esteban then motioned for Nokomis to join him as they went to run down some names for the two heroes, leaving Dragon Fist and Mirage in the office for the time being.

Nokomis nodded, and said "Let's see if we can stop him from carving anyone else up then.  I'll chase the leads here on this computer, Esteban.  You see if we have any of those fellows in lockup?  I can check COTUS and APHIS here."  She pulled her keyboard drawer out, smiling at Mirage as she did, and then began to type.  She was actually very good at it, and her datasearch was rapid.

If Esteban checked the lockup, they actually had two of them in the lockup!

Esteban searched and found that two of The Builder's "helpers" were in lockup.

"We've got two of these jackasses in our lockup. I'll see if I can get anymore names."

Dragon Fist nodded.

"Good work detective. Let's hope these two are forthcoming. I think we may have to work our way up the chain."

"I don't suppose that you could let us interrogate them...with the camreas turned off?" Mirage asked, pretending to be disinterested in anything else but her nails.  For what these men did to Seer, she really wanted to hurt them, if not physically then mentally.

Nokomis nodded, and said "As long as they can walk back out to their cells.  Come on Esteban, I need a second to help me wrangle the fellows into the room.  I can't handle two of them plus the doors."  She knew Esteban was related to DF now, but she'd been caught by him in the gym pressing 1000 pounds, so Esteban KNEW she was stronger than she looked.
