Re: Weston P.D.

Captain Jordan spotted Katy, and said "JUST the woman I wanted to see.  I have a job for you.  You're familiar with Weston, and officer Kellington isn't as familiar as she'd like.  So.  I'd like you to help her out on a case."

Re: Weston P.D.

Katy dismissed a member of her Psyche unit, nodding as she situated herself so she wasn't leaning on her desk. She still wasn't quite so sure on how to take Captain Jordan's silence over the past month or two, but if he didn't say anything about it, Officer Hanson wasn't going to bring it up.

"Of course, Captain. I'd be happy to help. What're the details?" Katy asked pleasantly.

He smiled, and said "Pretty simple.  Officer Kellington needs you to show her some of the places we've had para crimes, and give her some of the history.  Would you fill her in?"

Re: Weston P.D.

Katy smiled. Just a simple history of Weston? Katy could swing that pretty easily. A small-time job compared to the recent events she'd been through, but a welcome one as well.

"Sure. Sounds simple enough," Katy said. Officer Kellington? Katy remembered the name, but didn't think she'd been formerly introduced to the officer. "Would you happen to know where her office is, by chance?"

Re: Weston P.D.

Katy nodded, hiding a smile as she took her leave from captain Jordan. Even though catching up on paperwork and having an on-the-side case would be an excellent stress-inducer, she was oddly relaxed. At least no one had tried to kill her today.

Katy walked into the lobby, not particularly hurried to catch up with Nokomis. Katy knew who she was looking for, and it didn't seem as if Nokomis had any pressing matters at the moment. "Officer Kellington?" Katy asked, putting her hand forward, "I'm officer Katherine Hanson, Para Psychic Investigations unit. Captain Jordan's asked me to help you get accustomed to Weston."

Nokomis looked at her, and accepted her hand.  She said "Pleased to meet you.  I'm Nokomis Kellington.   The captain said he'd have someone get me more familiar with the city here soon."

Re: Weston P.D.

Katy shook Nokomis' hand, nodding as she spoke. "Well, where do you want to start? I could give you a rundown of the criminal activity we experience in Weston, or show you the most recent Para related crimes we've come across." She held up some files that she'd meant to review earlier. A copy of most of the super-powered crimes passed through her Unit, and Katy assisted in any way possible. "Barring that, we could give a patrol officer the rest of the day off and we could cruise his route, and I'll fill you in where need be."

Re: Weston P.D.

Katy grinned as well, and began leading Nokomis through the police station. "A lot of the officers work hard for little in return. Most of 'em have families to go back to," She said, opening the door to the garage. "They've got a lot of hours to put in too."

"Dave!" Katy said, one of the officers about to leave looked up. "You've got the northeastern district, right?"

"Yup. Sure do," the officer replied.

"Take the rest of the day off. Consider it an order from Captain Jordan. I'll fill in for ya." Katy said, "Oh, and tell the wife and kids I said hi."

"Will do. Thanks, Kate," Dave replied, tossing Katy the car-keys.

Officer Hanson got in and started the engine. She made sure to leave Dave's hour log in, as well as inputting Nokomis as a Second. Not technically legal, but since the only one who was in a position to sue against it was Katy, there was no harm done.

"Anyway, shall we?" Katy said as soon as Nokomis was in, and drove out of the parking complex and onto the regular route.

She went with Katy, and grinned, telling her "I can't think of a married officer I know who isn't more than happy to get more time with their families."

From: Park.

*Walk* *Walk* *Walk* This is the sound effect of the unlikely trio entering the police station by transdimentional portal.  Because as mentioned before, Mittens' portals don't make *BAMF!* sounds.

The receptionist at the police station was a low ranking officer.  He looked at them, and asked "How may I help you?"

--> Weston City Park

Matt finds the lack of distinctive portal sounds just fine.  It makes it easier to stand quietly behind the girl all the delicate pink razors in the local convenience store are no match for.

He decides to let Mitten's field the question, seeing how this wasn't his idea.  Well, that and he was curious just how she'd word this situation.

Maverick walks up behind the other two. "We're here to talk with someone about a murder." he says a little darkly.

The receptionist, depending on how new she is or isn't would likely recognize the kid. His dad is a police officer and the boy himself tends to frequent this place to report crimes, gather useful input, and sometimes just socialize with the cops.

Re: Weston P.D.

Maverick obeys, sitting as directed. He apparently came prepared with the news article that spoke of Matt's death. Hit by a car. "So far, what I have managed to gather is that this guy, Matt Matthews, went to shove an elderly lady out of the way of a drunk driver. The lady shoved Matt back, pushing him in the path of the car. As far as I can tell, nobody has found the car who hit him and, consequently, the old lady who caused Matt's death."

Her pen moved across the page rapidly, making notes, and she asked "Can you provide any additional details for me here?  License plate number, make, model, color?  Any damage incurred from the impact?"

Re: Weston P.D.

Matt recognizes Nokomis from the Funeral, but his wardrobe change since then had involved false face removal so the feeling might not be mutual.  "Red Blue 99 Camaro.  I only saw it from the front.  Wouldn't be surprised if it had been stolen for a drunken joyride at the time.  Lady called an ambulance after, then took my wallet and left.  I don't know how long it took for the ambulance to show up, but it's a safe assumption they were a bit late to do anything."

He shrugs, "We're not all Leo Black.  Some of us just come back wrong a bit more quietly instead of saying crazy on national TV."

EDIT: Note to self, double check colors in my own damn background

Re: Weston P.D.

Nokomis kept excellent notes, and she asked quietly "Do you think you could recognize the little old lady in question?  And do you recall the exact time you were in the accident?"  She seemed remarkably calm for one discussing a murder WITH the victim.

Re: Weston P.D.

Matt had a feeling any cop who went to the funeral of Mirage would be somewhat used to strange cases.  He probably felt more awkward about the situation than Nokomis did.  "Pretty sure, a good memory is what got me through highschool.  I could probably sketch out her face if you need me too."

While he had passed some time before meeting certain space aliens drawing on rooftops (not in the sense Ozzy did), it had been a conscious decision never to draw that particular person from memory. Today's incriminating evidence could have ended up yesterday's apparently self incriminating evidence if anything had happened to her.

OOC: I can see it now.  "Oh come on, I only drew her face and the words REVENGE over and over.  That doesn't mean anything."
