Candy nodded, and kissed him again.

Jeff kissed her back, and looked into her eyes.

"I guess that's a nice way of saying shut up and kiss me, Jeff.." he said with a good natured chuckle.

A thought seemed to occur in his head for a moment. "Y'know...well, this is probably from playing too much D&D...but what if you and I..we're some sorta key to an Elemental puzzle?"

  Both of her eyebrows arched, and she said "All the more reason to stay close to each other.  Now, kiss me again and hold me close."

Jeff did just that, holding Candy close to him, and kissing her fervently.

  "Thank god I'm not catching you two in anything worse!  You guys okay, or just enjoying the privacy I'm disrupting?"  Darren had flowed out of the faucet nearby, and was grinning as he solidified into himself.

Jeff smiled as he gave Candy a peck on the lips.

"Good to see you Darren. You and Ex doing ok?"

  Fluid chuckled, and said "Oh yeah, we're good.  Drop over more often, why don't you?  We're thinking we may need you guys to help us with a little project."

Jeff arced an eyebrow at Darren.

"What sorta project?"

  His prompt answer was definitely not the worst.  "Helping two unrequited lovers get together.  Matchmaking.  Want to help?"

"Sounds relatively interesting. What do you think, Candy? And what else is there to it, Darren?"

  Candy nodded with interest.  "This sounds like a good and worthy cause."

  He grinned, and said "It's Seer and Rebound."

Jeff smiled at that.

"All right, we're in. What can we do to help?'

  He explained "An idiot could catch that the two adore each other.  But neither one seems to realize it.  So, we need to find out why, and bring this to the attention of the other one."

Jeff nodded at that.

"OK..first we have to find out why. First, we have to find 'em..'

  Darren nodded, and said "Seer's at Ozzy's place.  I think Rebound is hiding out because he's a wanted man.  Have to check around.  Know of anywhere he might hide?"

Jeff shrugged.

"The last time I remember...Rebound was gonna hide out at Ozzy's place. But then I think he split. The guy could be just about anywhere.."

  Candy asked "Did he or did he not have some candy I made?"

"I THINK he might have...it's been a while, so I don't remember offhand..."

  Candy said "If he has . . then maybe I can locate him.  Maybe."

Jeff went and gently clasped Candy's hand.

"You can do it baby.." he said softly to her.

  Candy held his hand, and closed her eyes, concentrating.  She reached out, and caught hold of Darren's hand, and then the world warped around them, and reformed into a positively horrid little hotel room in what had to be the nastiest, cheapest hotel in Weston.

Jeff looked around at the horrid decor of this place they found themselves in.

"Rebound...no need to hide man...it's us...the Defenders.."

  They heard a yelp in the bathroom, and a moment later, Jack's head popped around, and he said "Scare the daylights out of me in the shower why don't you."

"Sorry man..." Jeff said. "We were trying to find ya...don't worry, there's no fuzz...it's just that...well, you and Seer...you guys have got somethin' special. We're just trying to keep you guys together and in one piece is all.."
