Mirage, Seer, Rebound and Dragon Fist, rematerialized in the HQ for the New Age Defenders.

"There we are.  Safe and sound." she said, releasing the two teenagers.  She did a small circle around Seer, letting her hand trail around the girls waist.


"Now, let's talk some more about what this Builder was doing.  Has he already been performing these terrible acts on paras?  Do you have any idea where he might be?"

Dragon Fist stood by silently, but listened intently as to what the kids answer would be.

  Seer tilted her head, and said softly "I don't remember everything.  I don't remember a lot.  Rebound says it is probably better that way."  She moved her head, clearly tracking Mirage by sound, not sight, as her eyes flicked this way and that without seeing anything at all.

"As far as we know he went to jail after the New age Defenders took him down. We heard he got out but we've yet to run into him. NOt sure where he is now but... people will start dissapearing soon. He can't help himself he's addicted to cutting people up to see how they work."

Dragon Fist listened to Rebound speak. This Builder was going to cause problems if and when he established himself.

"We need to find him before he starts that again."

"Really now, cutting people up just to see how they work." Mirage said.  "We will find him and he'll be sorry that we did.  We can check with the NPA to see if they've heard anything.  Otherwise we may just have to go and roust some bars until we find something out."

Dragon Fist nodded in acknowledgement of Mirage's comment. It seemed that to get to the Builder, they were going to have to work their way to him.

"He most certainly will be made to pay...I will see to it.."

"Is there anything else that you can think of regarding Builder and his plans?  What sort of habits does he have?  Whatever you can tell us would be a big help."

"I'm afriad theres not much more we can tell you, we were in a cell or strapped to a table most of the time We know very little of what he was doing when not cutting us up."

Mirages eyes narrowed dangerously.

"He cut you?"

Rebound looked to seer and they exchanged a nod before he reached up and removed his shirt. His chest was covered with scars some stiched up others not, all still healing.

Dragon Fist saw the cuts on Rebound.

"This madmam has to be taken off of the streets."

He then turned to Mirage.

"All right..once they're situated, we start searching for this Builder."

  She nodded, and said softly "Yes.  He cut us both.  And other things aren't so . . . . obvious."

Rebound warapped a gentle arm around Seers shoulders. "We appreciate teh help and as much as I'd like to pu the hurt on him some more...we need to focus on getting our lives back.

"You let us worry about dealing with The Builder," Dragon Fist replied. "But you're right...getting your lives together is an equally important task."

  Seer leaned against Rebound, and glanced toward Dragon Fist, although she couldn't seem to pin him precisely, her eyes seemingly unable to focus on him.  She didn't go far, he'd noticed, without Rebound right there with her.

Mirage was fuming.  She looked at the cuts that Rebound showed them and it made her really want to hurt someone, and she knew just who.  The pair of kids, Seer and Rebound, reminded her of herself not that long again.  Which meant that this problem with Builder had become personal.

"You two stay here for now.  It's safe and the Defenders should be back sometime soon." She said, reaching out to put a hand on Seers shoulder and Rebounds arm.  "After that we'll see about getting you some place where you can start over.  You are safe now and anyone that dares to touch you again will have to answer to Dragon Fist and I."

Perhaps it was due to her inexperience with her new abilities but Mirage found herself reaching out to touch the minds of both Seer and Rebound.  She wanted to know what their new enemy looked like and seeing what the villain had done to them.

Dragon Fist nodded in acknowledgement to Mirage's comment. This Builder had forced his craft on these two innocent kids. To Dragon Fist, it was the same as if he had done that to one of the kids at his dojo.

"This Builder has much to answer for. Take a rest...this place is well protected."

Dragon Fist's eyes on his helmet began to glow briefly, as he looked over their chi signatures.

  Mirage found that Seer couldn't show her what Builder looked like.  She was totally blind now.  She hadn't always been, she knew that, but she couldn't remember it.  She couldn't really remember ANYTHING before the Builder's lab, except butterflies, and that was a faint, treasured memory that was faded like an old photograph.

Jack's memories of the Builder were filled with rage his high pitched giggle whenever he cut into them his tufts of graying hair wanting to pull them out all at once wanting to smash his horn rimmed glasses. He nodded at Dragon Fist and Mirage. "All right we'll stay here until they show up."

Mirages eyes narrowed again as she looked at Seer.  Another one of Mirages trigger points had been hit.

"Who was he?" she said in a low and dangerous tone.  "Give me that mans name."

Dragon Fist couldn't help but note Mirage's newly low and dangerous tone. He stood by her, but remained ready to intercede, in case if things went south.

  She leaned into Rebound's chest, although gently, and said softly "Them."  And the names came to Mirage, silently.  As she'd picked them out of the men's heads as they'd done what they pleased to her.  But that didn't make it hurt any less, and she seemed very embarrassed as tears began to slide down her cheeks.

Rebound wrapped his arms around her wiping away her tears with one hand. "Its okay, they won't hurt you again, I'll protect you."
