Resting her hand on his plate gauntlet they procede along the mirrored passage up the stairs and into the Planetarium. Pausing at the top of the stairs to assess the room

Re: The Lyceum III (main)

All of the heroes were now back together again on the circular platform, which was about 50 feet in diameter. It was rimmed by a low wall, about as high as a dwarf. Beyond the wall was a twilight open sky for as far as they could see. Stars filled the deep blue and purples and both moons gave their white and crimson light.

Looking back towards the door, it now seemed to be out of place. Some sort of dimensional gate on the edge of the platform, rather than a doorway through a wall.

They grouped up at the foot of a white marble bridge, shot through with quartz and other crystals, occupied the center of the platform. It arced upward and seemed to fade into nothing as it did so.

[OOC: The major construction in this room is a bridge not a staircase. I noted I've called it both. A big oops on my part.]

Re: The Lyceum III (main)

D'aden keeps looking around, his mouth hanging open. Finally, he speaks, taking a step closer to the bridge every third or fourth word. "I must confess to mixed feelings about that bridge. We accepted an important task from a representative of the people, and I fear crossing that bridge will leave that task behind. On the other hand, if there's an area in this place that hasn't been ransacked, it would be at the other end of that bridge. Lastly, if the dracs have crossed that bridge with their prisoner, we'll only save her by following."
"Whatever we decide, I think we should all agree to a single course of action. What say you?"

Standing at the base of the bridge, he faces the others and waits for their opinion.

Olven Wolf shrugs.  "We're to explore the Lyceum and bring back whatever we can for the rebuilding of the kingdom.  As far as I'm concerned, this bridge is within the Lyceum.  And D'aden, I agree that the girl might be on the other end.  Let's go."

Olven turns toward the bridge and joins D'aden.

OOC:  Olven votes to head across the bridge.

In reply to Olven Wolf (msg # 478):

If you suspect this bridge will lead us away from this complex I suggest we finish searching this before heading elsewhere. The probability that this girl is within this complex is greater than it is that she would have been carried off across a possible portal.

Re: The Lyceum III (main)

Roisin was already on the bridge, showing some degree of eagerness to cross it. "Let's go.... put it this way. If there's anything that's going to be valuable, would you put it in the same building as everything else, or would you put big magical defences to defend it. If there's anything worth checking out it's at the end of this bridge....and I'm not just saying that because I want to check it out. It's logical" Roisin eyes lit with excitement at the prospect of seeing what was at the end. "If things go bad, we can always come back."

In reply to Roisin uth Bannatar (msg # 480):

Grettanah glanced towards the heavens, thinking how these people were becoming driven by their desire to cross the bridge. They needed to have their attentions directed elsewheres. Your statement is dependant on the premise that those who have the girl control this Complex if that is correct, following that course has inherent Flaws. The boy hasn't demonstrated any import apart from his present predicament thus by association his sister isn't valuable either. Turning Grettanah accompanied by Barrack exits the room.

D'aden plucked two notes on his mandolin, the first as he slid his finger up the frets, the second as he slid his finger down. Then he put the instrument away and followed Grettanah, saying, "maybe we should've plucked a feather or two from the griffin. If nothing else it would've provided some entertainment."

Grettanah raised an eyebrow quizzically at the warriors comment, as they moved towards the first unvisited door. Unless he was referring to the Griffin-door she was puzzled by the fellows meaning until she realised it was referring to an encounter that took place before she met them.

Turning around she raises her hands noncommittally Can't hear a sound which could mean nothing but then again it could speak volumes. Perhaps the next door may prove more interesting. Stroll towards the next unknown door, unless one of the others chooses to try this one.

"That's a bad idea. With the stage running through here, it's not hard to imagine a few of them hiding quietly behind the door. As soon as we move past, they attack. Classic ambush tactics."
"What's worse, while I've been revealing their plan, they've been listening, and now they're angry."

Gripping his staff, D'aden steps to the door and reaches towards the handle. Before he touches it, he looks back to Olven and nods. Then he opens the door and steps to his right to avoid anything that comes out.

Looking around the area Grettanah tisks... This is a odious place, filled with all manner of foibles; rooms without rooms and doors which aren't. All which calls into question the Architects mental acuity. Exiting through the door she entered. Once back in the hall where normality is present she looks back at the group. Do any of you have an intention to loose what reason you have by continuing to explore this complex.

Slyly, D'aden says, "I've never had difficulty with the tactness of my reason."
Looking around, he goes on, "in fact, I reason that if we were to mark the floors or walls in some mundane fashion to get through any of the mazes here, our marks would fade to nothing before we came back to them. On the other hand, a magical mark would probably remain. This entire place was set up to train wizards..."
