All the updates you ever need

Bumping Vigor to d8!

08:05, Today: Charging Bear rolled 4,34 using 1d36,1d36 with rolls of 4,34. New Fate Chips.
Which is a White and Blue Chip

08:06, Today: Charging Bear drew the single card: 4D using a deck of 54 cards. Adventure Card.
4D - Tale Teller
“It was a dark and stormy night…”
Your hero must tell a story of his group’s deeds to an audience of some sort (roleplay this) and make a Persuasion roll. If successful, the listeners become friendly and helpful to the entire party.

Re: All the updates you ever need

Okay time to do some character bookkeeping submitted for the approval of the mighty Stray as I do tend to mess things up sometimes

Discarding 1 White 3 Red and 4 Blue

09:34, Today: Wildcat Hawkins rolled 1,33 using 1d36,1d36 with rolls of 1,33. Chips.

That's a white and a blue.

Adventure cards...

I'm giving up the 10 of Hearts.  It's a good card, buuuut it won't have much use until a new, neutral group of people shows up, and when will that happen I have no idea.

09:38, Today: Wildcat Hawkins drew the 2 cards: 5D, 3D using the Deadlands system. Adventure Card (1 replacement).

Spurred On, that's not bad, especially if we get to chasing those assassins soon.

Mechanical Malfunction... well it's a good thing Wildcat wouldn't have it out for Alouette I suppose.

As for the Advance, we all know what the intention is yet the circumstances force a judgment call by the Marshal aka the God of this particular instance of the Deadlands universe.  The problem here is the timing on this couldn't be worse.  Obviously we all know the intended edge at 20XP was Texas Ranger, but given the circumstances we're under, I can definitely see a case for not being able to put it down yet.

IC she's worried about what they're going to think about her killing the Judge, OOC I know that's not going to be a problem.

But what is a big problem is that WC has screwed the pooch here pretty good as we have a major supernatural disturbance which has not been contained or censored.  Granted, it's not her fault, but Austin doesn't know that.  The reward for screwing up generally isn't promotion.

They also don't know that she's screwed up yet. That was going to be covered in the reply telegram...they know she's in hot water, but some of the details got garbled. The reply telegram is awarding her a brevet promotion to Private, pending review of her full report once she returns to Austin.

Well I'll take that as approval to march on then, as I've a feeling WC's planned return is well beyond the scope of the planned duration.

CCOOOOOLLL!

Also, didn't mean to have WC monologue, but Cantrell just gave her a savage beating with the clue stick.

That theory is probably wrong, wrong, wrong, but it makes sense based on what she does know.

This is going to suck however, as regardless  of what CB agrees to, she has to ask... Carl, of all people, to take her to Ward.

I have no problem with the monolog...it stops me from having to do the same, and it sets up things nice and smooth. And she's actually quite right on a few points, which impresses me. Good show!

In reply to Charging Bear (msg #880):

mmm...I don't suppose one could - hypothetically - play a kasa-obake in that?

@Wildcat - She did give him food, so he doesn't need bribing. As he sees it, either she goes to Ward and tells him something useful to stop the deadders coming up and he kills her when she's more combat-worthy, or she goes to Ward, is unhelpful or aggressive; orders are given and she ends up in what Alouette calls the Pit Where The Bodies Are Buried. Just one more trespasser on the Circle W that didn't come back.

It's only if Wildcat's poking goes directly against Ward's interests (not all of which even Carl, the trusty mute, is in on) that he'll play silly buggers and dig his heels in.

...is it only me that's amused by Katy, the one who did them most wrong, being the one who's best handled the borderline-bloodfeud situation with the Dust Adders and got reconciled? [gestures at the general destruction wrought by everyone with more sense and authority]

Heh, I thought he (Cantrell) was gonna do that.  But that's all right, he can join Carl and several others in the list of people who want to shoot me.

Sad part is, it really wasn't anything against him that time, it's just an effort to involve as few people as possible.

Re: [SavW] Iron Dynasty - Intrigue

I kind of wish WC had encountered the clank earlier, she's so serious, he's... not.

@Alouette - If it makes you feel any better, WC considers this a borderline suicide mission, but this situation is desperate.  In her mind, Ward's a demon summoning gang leader who will only listen to her because he'll be so outraged at the possibility he's being used as a patsy by someone even more evil.  Once I tell him what I know, I'm of no more use to him and... yikes.

OOC Ward seems more... nuts or at least affably evil, than genuinely evil.

CB gets a white chip!

@Wildcat. Ward is a very Affably Evil Cattle Baron with a side of Well-intentioned Extremist and a dash of Screw The Rules I have Money. he will be polite and gentlemanly, but if you cross him or if he thinks you'll harm his interests then I agree with Alouette's assessment of where you'll end up.

Re: [SavW] Iron Dynasty - Intrigue

Alas...

@Wildcat - If she tells Ward that, he will shoot her from...twenty paces away. [nods] Ward does have Issues, though, to the point that human life, including his own, doesn't mean overmuch to him...Carl's aware that he might get a semi-deserved punishment for the mess resulting from his own attempts to do right by the Frost family and defend the town from the percieved threat of Evans and his choice in deputies, not to mention unresolved hierarchy issues with the rest of the pack (I assume Ward has told Gus that Frost is dead by now, and possibly by whose hand) so it's going to be delicate all round. Carl might actually try to play the 'but she's a woman!' card for WC if it looks like Ward wants to top her before he does.

Also, if anyone starts trying to actively gender the poor clank (e.g. 'don't do that, ladies/gentlemen don't do those things') it is going to be so confused, what with a femminine name and exactly half the cast occasionally referring to it as 'he'... [finds this mildly hilarious]

On the other/present hand, angels are traditionally 'he' no matter how they manifest, so it'll respond to either pronoun, machines being equally traditionally referred to as 'she'. [/ramble] ...and yes, I want to see Alouette/Wildcat interaction too.
