I've not actually seen Highlander, so I can't comment on his similarity to the Kurgan. My inspiration for Itza-chu draws a lot from Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Yeah...Carl thought the cougar'd dropped the kid dead somewhere in town but got too busy trying to get people to injun-proof it to go look for her, just hoped a mini-deadder wouldn't cause too much trouble.

That movie is practically a modern-day Spaghetti Western by itself. Given Quentin Tarantino's love for the SW genre, it's no surprise that it comes off that way.

It's all right, it doesn't know one of its favourite mortals runs a risk of not coming back - it's pretty sure Charging Bear will be back very soon and they can get on with turning Blackthorn and its differently alive populace into the land of pancakes and merriness.
