No, on both accounts. "Kansas" brought up some "Carlspeak," "Mayor" didn't narrow things down, and I was he only one who used "Bruebaker." Ah, well. They are now. The wife's name was Martha, if I remember correctly.

An FYI on Adrians current silence in the Hollow Men thread:

I'm still out of town on my Thanksgiving trip. I will try to post soon, but have limited access till Tuesday.

...Tex...well, the best that can be said for Tex is that he can try.

I never thought I'd say this, but aww Tex. He tried.

Say, Chief, looking at the Adventure Cards thread there're a couple of uses from last chapter and then one from last year...are we behind a draw or is that a timey-wimey hiatus hiccup or what's going on there?

It doesn't look like anyone's used an adventure card since last year, does it? Let's do this the easy way.

EVERYONE! YOU MAY KEEP 1 ADVENTURE CARD FROM YOUR STASH. TOSS THE REST AND REDRAW.

Re: Sneaking with Clanks

I'm a little confused as to what's going on in my thread.  How many Comanches are we facing?  How close together are they?  And where can I find the writeup on the Pummel power?

Re: Sneaking with Clanks

Once you get closer you will see one brave who is normal-colored fighting 2 braves who've gone silver-screen. They're all in melee with each other in a blocked-off tunnel, so they're all adjacent.

The Pummel power is in the SW Deluxe book. If you don't have it, I have a write up of the power in the System Info and House Rules thread. For ease of reference, here's a copy of what's written there:

Pummel
Rank: Seasoned
Power Points: 2
Range: Cone Template
Duration: Instant

Pummel allows a character to knock down multiple foes. The caster makes an arcane skill roll and then places a Cone Template in front of him. Any friend or foe touched by the template must make a Strength roll (at –2 if the caster gets a raise). Any target that fails is knocked back 2d6” and becomes prone. If the target strikes an inanimate object, he is Shaken as well. Targets with cover may subtract the cover modifier from the total distance moved (to a minimum of 0), and flying targets suffer an additional –2 to their Strength roll.

I have to say, it's far easier slipping back into William, both character and speech-wise, than it is with Murphy. So please contribute any personality change in the little Irish guy to the dark confinements of the mines.

Murphs rocks. I don't think I've ever seen a real live wild Fenian rebel written so well, speech or spirit, including in published fiction.

As for Evans' lot, remember that milady there has been known to be aware of things happening some way away...she could be useful for the asking, if you can decipher her answers.

Re: Sneaking with Clanks

Well, it is true. Seriously, I find O'Rourke's watered-down-by-20-odd-years-in-the-US accent/speech rhythms hard to wrangle, and you capture that kind of bitter melancholy with a flash of fire that so often crops up in the Gaelic temperment remarkably well.

On the theme of acting strangely in confined spaces, Stray - assume Carl was looking at the shiny seams in the walls/ceiling...I rolled that mostly for my amusement and Carl's completely off his face, so he's not acting entirely logically (Logic is hard when you're not entirely convinced you're not a balloon).

The Amazing Evans:
"Of course." Evans sighs. "Naturally, the Hounds of Hell would attack right when half the team is either away or having nervous breakdowns. Why did I expect any different?"

To be fair, it was entirely you guys' decision to send your most zombie/damage-resistant members to the Mangled Exposition Pony waaay over there.

Re: Angel talk

Obscure frontier term for nonsense, to put it concisely.  Its origin, I have no idea.

It wasn't really used that way, one did not "pour" it per se and it wasn't an attempt to compare nonsense to liquids, but 'cat is a bit poetic in her own unintelligible way.

Re: Angel talk

In reply to Charging Bear (msg # 837):

Plenty of good things come from Laughs at Darkness...if you're smart. CB got showered with relics aplenty, remember, and got the opportunity to buy off his Cursed mysterious background.

Speaking of which, to answer your OOC question: You should have all three (coup stick, rabbit's foot, and dreamcatcher), as I remember Jeb giving you the dreamcatcher back after you guys defeated Itza-chu.

I think the last time you saw Carl in-game was when you fought Itza-chu for the first time and got beaten on top of the hillside, just before Laughs At Darkness snatched you up out of the world. Before that, I think you and he saw each other as the fiasco at the theater, but I'm not sure.
