Re: Angel talk

Does Jeb have any kind of weapon spirit-side?

Charging Bear was injured and somewhat out of it after the theatre mess, I don't think he noticed Carl then.

He definitely saw him fighting Itza-Chu and the Comanches with nothing but a rope and Itza-Chu's own knife, though...that considered, he might doubletake at Carl being still alive.

Unrelatedish note  - If you're a comic book fan you might want to pick up Pretty Deadly (http://prettydeadlycomic.tumblr.com/  https://www.imagecomics.com/co...series/pretty-deadly ) as the art is pretty epic and the overall story is fantastic.

Jeb has the knife CB gave him, so yes. He also has a chill touch he can use against the living, though it only does Nonlethal damage.

Laughs At Darkness:
The shaman is quiet for quite a while. The he stands, and begins danceing. he doesn't make a sound, he just moves, leaps, moves, leaps, sways, leaps, and moves. Wildcat has no idea just what the heck he's doing.

If it's the Lindy Hop, Wildcat better have smart! reflexes.

Full day today, but I'm working up a post that I'll hopefully be able to make tonight (still have more work to do...gah).

What's my combined penalty for darkness and for hitting the horse head thingy?

Re: Angel talk

See, that is what people did for fun before the Internet. They got home from long days, had themselves a nice drink, then filled their trousers full of bees and went ballroom dancing (that is my theory, anyway. The women in the tiny shorts/large knickers? They are hardcore.).

Question: do the folk being eaten by wolves attacked by the zombie dogs want me to bring JohnJohn in on this fight? He's currently in the land of Somewhere Over There since his player has been about, just not recently.

Re: Angel talk

So I just installed another HDD on this computer since the old was is full and there's nothing I wish to delete.

It became sentient with the increased terabyte of memory available, and it proceeded to curse me for not giving it limbs so it could Lindy Hop.

Before I pulled the SATA cable and destroyed the abomination, it was utterly terrifying.

Luckily, I've worked out a temporary deal to borrow a car from a firend for a while, but it's only temporary.

Re: Angel talk

Ugh, I've had that happen to me with my first car.  At 44,000 miles, the engine block cracked.

I'm dead serious.  The engine block just broke.

It's so stressful when you have car problems; most American cities that aren't from the colonial era have no pedestrian infrastructure at all.  It's like living in the center of a NASCAR track.

Poor Stray.

Re: Angel talk

Indeed, it did. Ah, well.

In other news, I got a chance to see GallowWalkers, the film Wesley Snipes was working on before his tax evasion problems sent him to jail, on NetFlix.

The premise:  A cursed gunman whose victims come back from the dead recruits a young warrior to help in the fight against a gang of zombies.

Sounds awesome, right?

Well, not so much. The pacing is terrible, there's only 2 actual action sequences in the whole 90 minutes (the rest being Sergio Leone-inspired long shots without any of Sergio Leone's actual skill in making them interesting), the dialog is atrocious to the point of ridiculousness, and Snipes appears to be sleepwalking though a Boring Invincible Hero routine. But the visuals of the 5 harrowed baddies makes up for (some of) it, the villain is awesomely hammy and actually has an interesting villainous quest (he doesn't know why he and his minions were resurrected while his son wasn't, so his quest is finding a way to raise his son from the dead, which for some reason means he feels the need to skin people and sew their skin onto his son's corpse in order to find "the right fit"). The costumes are also particularly well done, and I plan on submitting a few to the Avatar Gallery (there's a character who would be a great fit for Jesse, for instance).

It's a movie with harvestible ideas for a Deadlands game, which is fine with me, and i consider it time well spent even if the movie itself was lacking.

Interesting concept, anyway. Which one looks like Jesse? (and does Fabulous glitter? Man, if I was called Fabulous I would go out of my way to be the shiniest thing in the West. Gunslingers wouldn't even be able to look at me.)

I saw it myself and I concur with every word.

I think they shot it in too much contrast or something though, many of the characters seem too colorful.  I mean I liked the juxtaposition of the bright colors and the tone they were going for, but it was too bright, it took me out of the moment.

I hate to use a damn Batman example, but the Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan jokers are good examples of how to use a bright and colorful villainous character in this way without it being so... jarring.

My thoughts were:  This was someone's Deadlands campaign retold years later with a lot of the details missing.

Re: Angel talk

@Wildcat

Not even a campaign. Just the munchkin's "I'm so tragic" backstory and a prelude adventure. I kinda would have liked to see more menace from the bad guys, really. They don't really make use of the "we're scary because it takes a lot to kill us" powers they supposedly have. They only go up against Aman, who already knows how to kill them, mooks who drop like flies, and townsfolk who don't even try to fight back. It would have been nice to see a "competent gunfighter attacks them, finds they are hard to kill, goes down hard" beat. Also, where did the zombies that Aman sent Fabulous after in the beginning come from in the first place?

@Alouette:

That is the EXACT picture I mean. :D

Hey, chief, may I nudge O'Rourke's Rank up a step, since he's a Wild Card who's been in the campaign from the first zombie onward?
