Vinny's not dead, by the way. Well, obviously he's dead, but no deader than he was before, just undead-dead. Not double dead. Kind of pissed off.

London Bound!

FYI: My wife and I will heading out of the ole USoA, across the pond to the London, England tomorrow evening and won't be back home for a week. We'll then be running in the local Ragnar Trail Relay after we get back. I will try to post when we get back from London - 4/3 and 4/4 - before going dark again till 4/7.

Feel free to puppet CB/Jake while I'm gone

Busy days at work, folks...

Also: My wife and I are expecting our second child - due date's April 7th.
Sooo... if I completely drop for about two weeks without prior announcement, that's probably why. :-)

happy travelling! Remember that signs marked 'subway' don't necessarily lead to Underground stations.

Re: London Bound!

The trains work sometimes, it is true. I hope London treats you well: there are always two or three bits of harmless crazy going on for every vicious thing you hear about the place.

Of yon monster
- and I am almost asleep, so I apologise for the likely quality of that post and this one - it probably could give Jake lots of info about plague and/or resurrect some mortals with enough persuading, but the price would be something like "shoot your mates" at the very least.

For future reference, though, assume where I'm in charge that anything and everything is potentially recruitable: some are just a lot harder than others (Marina's almost impossible, for instance, as were the dogs). Smooth-talking out of trouble can be as awesome as blowing things the hell up, after all, so I don't think they should be mutually exclusive.

It's been awhile. No doubling up on Adventure cards right? If another player has the same one I needs to re-draw?

All the characters should be veteran level, so you can keep all 4 of the cards you drew. I gave up trying to keep track of who had double cards long ago.

Re: London Bound!

To be fair, the priest is probably as close as Vinny had to having a natural predator - he did, in fact, think William was being a soft idiot and would eventually starve himself to death or/and be conned into a heroic sacrifice for those puny mortals under O'Rourke's bad good influence. A spectacular big brother instinct backfire resulting in a lethal tactical blunder, really. William was the threat, not the priest.

I wouldn't feel too bad for him, though - he may have coincidentally kept all the nasties off whilst raging around trying to find Marina, but he would have made a fox in a henhouse look restrained if he got at the survivors.

Of Your  Mom

He's lying like a rug, if anyone was worried, just less obviously this time. I think he did catch some younger relative of John's, possibly during an attempt to defend family, but I don't think even the sneaky Tao Jing is a match for an alerted Southern matron with a shotgun, or even a frying pan.

JohnJohn is the reason for both his missing and capped teeth, though. At some point he seriously beat the shit out of this guy.

Re: Of Your  Mom

I'd like to say that I'm really enjoying Tao Jing's insults and otherwise colorful language. All these things he's saying...calling John a "man of low desires," a "lewd, mean personage of rude society," and perhaps my favorite, "mouldy rogue"...it's all hilarious to me.

Re: Of Your  Mom

Aw, thank you. I'll miss the nasty bastard.

His rants are mostly me fiddling a little with what happens when you feed Shakepeare to Google Translate - aiming for an impression of someone filled with rage and bitter poetry that just becomes ludicrous bathos across the linguistic and cultural gulf, which is Tao Jing all over. He could slander John beautifully in Cantonese, but he wants the other Americans to hear for maximum damage...thus crippling his own dignity in the process. A mouldy rogue is definitely worse than a normal one, though. Mildew!

Where are William and O'Rourke right now, mapwise? Between the barn and the bunkhouse?

Re: Of Your  Mom

Nope, still on the other side of the house: on the right edge of the map, almost off it. Currently William's about at that corner where the edge of the carriage-house meets the main building. The kitchen/back door there isn't obvious because no light's coming through a very thorough barricade; it's not an obvious entrance/exit.

The small door on the barn side of the carriage house was open (and banging) when William passed it, though, so he knows that might be a way in/where a girl, a woman, and a surprisingly dry Peke might have come from, if he wants to go into the house. The barn was also open when he passed it, and no longer has a Bad in (maybe a bad or so, but not a Bad), and he can see the feed shed from there.

Considering it's a ranch and the people were prioritising protecting themselves and their livestock from the Comanche before the vampires happened, most buildings are probably open for investigating, with only the house truly fortified. Bear in mind that Vinny was unleashing Hell around the place for a good while looking for Marina, though: if he didn't get her, she's pretty well hidden.

Adrian's certainly not going to shoot him. He just came over to see if he could expedite the resolution of the conflict so they can get back to dealing with more serious threats. Maybe I'll try and persuade Tao Jing.
