Re: Out Of Character: The Circle W Ranch ((OOC IV))

Bill was scared almost to death by a brass hatrack after drunkenly shooting at (and missing) a treed cat, then pissed himself at the sight of a bloody girl. Not to mention the fact he got suckerpunched by Dave of all people and then sweet talked by Cantrell into going on a wild goose chase and leaving the prisoners behind to mind themselves. Whatever gave you the slightest impression Bill McCoy was in any way competent? He's the very model of a Clueless Deputy.

Re: Out Of Character: The Circle W Ranch ((OOC IV))

Alouette:
Ha! I missed that post. No no,
it's going to go like this:
- CB shoots Itza-Chu with his Weapon of Doomy Doom and goes "Ha! That was easy...oh, crap." and runs away from the charging gang of spear-waving bulletproof Comanches in true Chased By Angry Natives style.

- Carl shrugs, kicks Itza-Chu in the head a bit to make sure he's dead for now, sets him on fire and explains a few things to the remaining natives, who realise the error of their ways (because zombies) and are a bit unenthusiastic about taking on Pale Eyed Devil anyway.

- CB sneaks and scuttles and throws off pursuit, then comes back to help Carl de-crucify folk because he is a nice guy usually, even if they are white.

- CB looks like he's about to touch a white woman or child already thoroughly traumatised by the local injuns.

- CB is attacked by Carl, who probably bites him.

- The Comanches sit and make popcorn on Itza-Chu's constantly regenerating-and-burning corpse and watch. Jesse too. Eventually the other Comanches come back and roast Cantrell, whom they captured whilst CB was doing heroics and didn't care. They have marshmallows.

We shall see, Carl. We shall see.

Adrian as himself shouldn't know a Sally connected with the Robertsons if he'd been gone nine years, is all. ...does he need a hug?

Re: Out Of Character: The Circle W Ranch ((OOC IV))

Are you sure?

I mean, we've got centuries of vivicist prejudice to get over here: people see a zombie coming towards them with arms wide and sort of flailing and they think "oh no! It wants to tear me up and maybe devour my brains!" - but c'mon, zombies have poor motor control, the tensile strength in those muscles not powered by demons is pretty rubbish, maybe they just want a hug. They try to communicate this, but when they want to say "Hugs!" it comes out "uuuuUUUUUUUuuuggg" and that's not really their fault now, is it. And then living people get the wrong end of the stick and things get ugly. Who knows how many terrible zombie massacres could have been avoided if folks just plumbed the creatures' motivations and showed them a little love? Not too much love, though. That could get wrong.

It sounds like they need better motor control and vocal control more than they need hugs.

In reply to Adrian Vega (msg #71):

I thought Adrian's been gone about 6 years. Sally would have been about 3 then.

Also, realized that the PM Adrian's referring to had a mistake in it...darn gremlins!

I've edited the post (and Adrian's response) for clarity.

Alouette:
[[The concept of "normal for Blackthorn" really sinks in when the locals don't even notice a guy with a tiny talking crowcatrice on his head. *so amused* ]]

I feel like taking inventory every few posts. There's a comedy western with Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer (They Call Me Trinity, I think, is the English title).
Spencer's the town marshal, Hill's his brother. Spencer has to leave town for 2 hours, leaving his brother in charge who gets in all sorts of trouble.
And then there's the hilarious scene where Spencer lists all the things that went wrong while he was away:
quote:
"One shop destroyed. Three heads split like overripe melons. One man wounded and one castrated. All in two hours. Just two hours I left you alone. Two hours"

Re: Out Of Character: The Circle W Ranch ((OOC IV))

I just love how the Blackthornians adapt, I really do. I can picture Old Grandma Bennett pottering off down to the shops with a short-handled shovel and/or a shotgun on days when there's a zombie alert, barely noticing the musical *ding* of metal off undead skulls...

You leave the clank alone for two hours, now, you'd be lucky if the town was still standing.

Re: Out Of Character: The Circle W Ranch ((OOC IV))

I liked "They Call Me Trinity"...fun little spoof western. The second one in the series is the one with that little slap-fight I posted a while back (the other one was from "My Name Is Nobody," which just had Terrance Hill).

On the matter of the Crowcatrice, though, they've been too busy dealing with Emma to really look at the thing. Trust me, once Adrian's had a chance to respond I'll deal with the strangeness of the tiny talking monster....but they've simply mistaken Exodus for a trained crow. Still pretty unusual, but I'll get to it, don't worry.

A Frankenstein's monster and a ghost... you must have donde something bad.
Don't worry, Carl's gonna light the wrong CB on fire and everything will be fine.

The dice roller can't hate you that bad.
But it's frustrating. "Oh, 1 on the blue chip-d6. Let me re-roll that... 2."

Well, none of your characters are harrowed yet...so don't give up ALL hope! ;)

And thanks. I thought, "A gunslinger runs into a blonde Englishman...what would he think?" and I remembered Van Owen...I hope Wildcat enjoys the reference when she gets back.
