Carl shrugs, blinking and waiting for his vision to clear.

"Careful," Wildcat cautions, watching Charging Bear. "Hey, Irish, mebbe it'd be smart t'get some on that thar ghost axe," she nods at the photograph-grey hatchet Mike brought back, then takes a snake head herself, glances at her Bowie, then narrows her eyes at Carl.

"Give me yer knife a minnit, Adder - gon' see if I can holy-water on this stuff."

Wildcat sighs in annoyance, and tries the experiment on her own weapon, piercing the brains of the skulls they've got and moving on almost before she's done. "Right, now let's git us closer to that shaman an' some more snakes t'cut."

"Makes me wish I still had my war club." Charging Bear said with a slight shrug as he looks at the obviously mystical happenings with Carl's knife.

Augustus started off.  "Very well, lead the way!"  Then, he stopped and turned around.  "Yes, they're leading us that way.  Follow!"

((OOC: Just to be clear, I currently have one relicified knife that's been poisoned with the rattlesnake venom, leaving 3 heads left since Charging Bear mistook the survival roll for something to help Carl out. Are you folks doing anything else with the snake heads that are left at the moment, and, if so, what weapons are you trying to coat?))

Murphy pulls his bowie knife from the scabbard at his back.
"If you don't mind, I'll have me a taste of this. Just in case we run into an Englishman."
He grins, from ear to  ear. He swirls the blade around a few times to let the coat of poison dry. "Wouldn't have minded having you with me at the dance in Craughwell, that would've have been a fine occasion."

He puts the blade away again.
"Now can we please go and break that fucking picture so that I can go home to me wife and daughter already?"

Wildcat shoots the almost-naked man a glare. "Do y'all have snakes in yer ears? If that photergraph breaks, we'll be sittin' on clouds playin' harps with the rest of the county - Hell, mebbe half o' Texas an' a chunk of Mexico - before we even hear the crack! We'll be crow chow! Buzzard bait! Food fer fishes! Pro'ly all three at once 'pendin on where bits land! Hit that down heer, we go boom."

((OOC: That's because the Snake Knife is a Relic gained from Wild Cat's Adventure Card, not a general statement on how I run poisoned weapons. The snake-venom thing was spoken of in dialog. Also, Wildcat has some ranting for you. *points up*))

Charging Bear shook his head, "I doubt we'll have much of a choice, unless you've magics up your sleeves to deal with those that can't be harmed by normal weapons. Besides if dying is what it take to keep the keeping the snake down ... then what are we to do?"

OOC: btw CB wasn't around when y'all were talking about the picture so this is news to him.

Wildcat grits her teeth. "If'n the Lord don't grant us a safe way to steal it or take the shaman down quietly, Ah trust He will at least put some Comanch' with a lick of English in mah way to let 'im know about this whole dang mess. I am not feart to die, but I will not go with th' souls of Blackthorn and all the surroundin' towns - and Injuns - on mah conscience. Not if there is another way. None."

Carl paces slightly behind the native, listening, noting.

"I speak Shoshone actually. Regardless, do you think a shaman bent on killin' all the white man will GIVE you such a great tool in that mission? We will have to take it by force of arms or stealth, I am not too sure we can manage either with what we have. But lead on Ranger ... lead on." Charging Bear said quietly. His eyes seem set as though he's rather sure the group will met its end.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil..." Wildcat murmurs, forcing herself to cool down a bit.

"Considerin' his men'll die f'sure if he keeps it, I figger they jes' might be willin' to help," she says shortly. "Bar th' fact most'f us are white an' you only speak So-show-nee. An' Chair'kee, presumin'."

"Well, I'm not ready to die. I got a lot to live for. So maybe we focus on the 'getting-the-fucking-picture' instead of the 'dear-god-we're-all-gonna-die-part? Yes?"

"A-men, Irish...kinda troubled we ain't caught up to the others by now, though," the incadescent Ranger responds, squinting ahead.

Taking up the rear behind Charging Bear, Carl idly slaps the flat of his blade against the remains of his chaps as though herding the lot of them.
