Re: Cage fight!

You know, now that you mention it, the Superdictionary does have a kind of pseudo-Oriental poetry to it...and that doesn't make it any less deranged at all (the fact that the cakes are now apparently canon just amuses me no end).

Go ahead - Liz was actually planning the same thing, but she's a bit whacked out on laudanum right now (she's plenty smart and actually quite powerful, but mentally fragile).

Re: Cage fight!

Alright. I rolled and drew and rolled and drew and chipped, and Adrian made a 17 on his Strength roll (pending your review of the numbers and all). Feel free to PM with any questions.

Both the women should be boosted up a step, also.

Re: Cage fight!

Just a quick note: If you want to affect multiple people with a Boost effect, you can affect them by increasing the base cost of the boost by +1 pp per additional target (up to 5 additional targets). This might be tricky to pull off with a Deal with the Devil, as it changes the hand needed to power the spell, but you could, in fact, do it with a single casting. (the change to boost is covered in the Savage Worlds Deluxe version of the spell).

Re: Cage fight!

That's pretty awesome - and would have saved me at least four different rolls/draws. And would have saved our co-GM a lot of reading.

I have Savage Worlds Deluxe, but I just usually end up using my version of Deadlands Reloaded all the time, which is a lot older I suppose.

Re: Cage fight!

Ooookaaaayyy... I'm kinda lost: Just let me see if I got this straight:

Most of us and the good guy NPCs are in the library. The priest and a few others are supposedly in the kitchen downstairs.
The door out of the library is barricaded with a chest or something.
Did Adrian manage to clear the doorway? Or are we still locked inside?
Do we have to go out through the window? Will there be climbing required?
Is that a unicorn or am I just high?

Re: Cage fight!

In order:

That is so.
It was-
-but he did, though he destroyed part of the furniture barrier in a fit of mightiness, so you can't run through the pointy wooden mess of destroyed drawers/contents without an Agility check, though stepping carefully (walking pace) is fine.
Not unless you want to.
Naw, it's just a jackalope that's lost an antler. Unicorns indeed!

Of course, now Jake has a particularly fun choice -

Stay quiet and stand a good chance of surviving until the cavalry get down there, or warn Evans & co. that the jiang shi's loose and Marina went thattaway and get munched?

Re: Cage fight!

I'd like to know if some of the PCs who weren't involved in the Mine Thread (I think mostly Adrian and John) wanted to pick up some of the Dust Adders there, so I can ensure that both groups have players there.

Re: Cage fight!

Alrighty. We have:

* Mike Bennett (Easy-going fellow, one of Carl's Best friends, is religious but low-key about it)

* Heavy Henry (A larger fellow, hence the nickname, who was a miner before Blackthorn went belly up and thus knows a bit about the lay of the land. He has a drinking problem)

* Ned Flanders (A bit of a coward, Ned was part of the party who attacked Evans with Nathaniel Frost and is only here because he's afraid Nathanial's Ghost will seek him out and wants to be close to Ward if that should happen)

* Juh "Spanish Joe" Hernandez (half-Apache Mestizo, keeps his half-breed roots secret from the rest of the Dust Adders because of the Shaw Brother's well-known dislike of all Indians. He's here because Ward pays so much better than the vaquero jobs he could find back in Mexico, and because his family lived in Texas before the Texas War of Independance)

Re: Cage fight!

Oh, Ned came back? I'm...kinda proud of him. Yay extras having second thoughts!

Also I get the impression that Joe's less secret-keeping than just accepted at his word... Like, if a Dust Adder says he's Mexican or his name's Johnny Cake or that he's totally not an outlaw who shot a man in Reno, then that's how it is.

NB Heavy Henry was with Murphs, gone to see what Wildcat and her mutant crowlets were.

Since most of the posting you did while as Heavy Henry is there, if Adrian read the whole thread he should be able to get a good idea of what Henry is like. You were taking over Wildcat, right?

Re: Angel talk

Nope, most things are how you left 'em.

Oh, and Wildcat passed on a message from Flora for Murphy to keep his shirt clean and not die - Murphs should recognise her from when they were cutting the crucified townsfolk down, though she wasn't glowing then.

Also, I think Jake just drew another Joker...
