Melba Ellenberger:
Melba munched on her pizza and said to Hunter, "So you been around at school but who are you?" She took another bite and added, "I mean what clique do yuo run with? As for Garrett, I have no idea."
Hunter chuckled in small amusement.
"I'm not really into cliques. They're too 'Stuck in The Eighties' for me. Consider me a...social anarchist!" He flashed a winsome grin as he dug into a pizza slice.
Soon, Garrett & Chan joined them at Vinnie's. Hunter's perpetual smile widened when he saw Garrett.
"You nearly missed out on a truly memorable pie!" When Chan showed up, he said with equal friendliness,
"Chan!"
Hunter pulled up a chair. Then, he surveyed the table with what appeared to be--
approval?
"Now this< is a worthy gathering! If I were into cliques, I'd say we have the foundation for one that would be remembered at our 20th high school reunion!"
Now
While the gang talked vampires, Hunter looked in silent bemusement. At one point, he covered a smile while his eyes flashed mirthfully. With the next pause, he spoke up.
"Vampires? Is this a LARP or are you actually talking about the living dead?"
Gracie Lynn & Darius
Out at Daffin Park, Darius followed the truck on his bike. The scruffy driver took a path down Victory Drive. Unless Darius were mistaken, they were headed for Thunderbolt, a suburb that was Savannah's next-to-last stop before Tybee Island.
Meanwhile...
Clive warily led Luthien to his meeting place of choice. However, they'd barely walked a block when they were stopped on Montgomery Street. The street lamp flickered in and out near a dark alley. Two artsy guys in their late teens or early twenties stopped them. They wore tees, skinny jeans, and trucker caps, just one of the "uniforms" of choice for male SCAD students.
The smaller one asked,
"Hey, do you guys have a smoke?" His taller buddy smiled pleasantly, but kept a vigilant watch on the street.
