Rules:  Everyone has 'em, and mine stinks.  Er, wait...

A few ground rules for my players to kick off the game!

First off--this game will include Mature Content.  I mean that there will be strong language, mature situations, strong scenes of violence.  We are NOT trying to make porn or Italian Shock-Gore stories here!  If you need an example or comparison, think of this as a Mutant Enemy production aired on FX alongside The Shield or Nip/Tuck.  Curse words in moderation are allowed; your character may have a "brief nude scene"; there will be the sort of violent images one might have seen on Buffy or Angel.

No sexual exploitation of minors.  I really think that goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway.

PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE AND SHOW RESPECT FOR OTHER PLAYERS, ME, AND RPOL by following this very important rule.

System
We're playing with the rules provided by the Eden editions of ANGEL and BTVS games.  Owning the core books will help you out in a BIG way, as I am drawing from them for the "house rules".  You don't necessarily need to own BOTH corebooks, as long as you have access to one of them.

The kit books are also helpful, but not required to play in my game.

Character Creation
I've actually pregenerated characters.  You're auditioning for a part, and players cast will receive the most "compatible" characters.  It's random, but I look at it as a roleplaying challenge.  You'll be allowed to make the characters your own--I'm just setting you up with a template.  One of you will be playing Buffy Summers, so if that's a concern, tell me when you RTJ!  Most of you will be White Hats.

Combat
Using the system set forth in the games, and rolling moves with 1d10 on the Dice Roller.  I might post an Initiative thread to declare the order of actions in combat.  If you intend to use a Drama Point, please let me know prior to your dice roll.  I will NOT allow a DP for combat after the roll.

Courtesy
I expect all players to treat one another and the Director (me) in a courteous manner IC and OOC.  Kidding around is cool, but please don't get vicious with each other.  If you disagree with a Director call, please talk with me via PM.  I don't want any threads tangled up with debates or "rules lawyering".

Speaking of "rules lawyering", the emphasis of the game is ROLE-playing, not RULE-playing.  This means no anal-retentive citations of Page 80-something in the Buffy Whozit Kit Book to one-up another player.  Settle such questions via PMs with one another and/or me.  I want the emphasis to be on FUN and interesting story-telling in this game!

Storytelling
I want you to have a part in telling the story you want for your character.  I will try to be as flexible as possible to help you meet that goal.  However, I also want balance in the game.  I'm going to give everyone a shot at the spotlight at different points in the Episodes and overall Season.  Please accomodate other players by allowing them their "on-camera" time when appropriate :o)

Let's also try to be descriptive and detailed in posts.  No, this doesn't mean that I need 6 extended paragraphs per post from each player.  Instead, let's try to challenge ourselves by posting more than 1 sentence when the chance presents itself.

Past-Tense for posts, too.

I will revise the rules thread as needed throughout the game.  Now that the drill about the rules is out of the way, roll up your characters, and let's have A GOOD TIME!
