Interlude 1

"Welcome aboard everyone," Captain Sirona Okeefe said sauntering into the lounge, where everyone was still sprawled across the floor.  Sirona's face was shocked for only half a second before she quipped, "You guys look like garbage!"

"They had genetically modified Felucians," Jack explained, attempting to catch his breath.

Interlude 1

"What?!" Sirona exclaimed.  "Why would anyone...oh that's right, this is the Empire we're talking about.  Of course they would," she sighed.  "Well, I'm afraid I don't have any medical equipment on board.  All I can offer you is a place to rest until we make our rendezvous point."

"Which is where exactly?" Admiral Varth spoke up.

Sirona glared at him a little, then said "At a starship in the remote and uninhabited Zandrax System."  She turned her gaze back to Jack.  "Our benefactor has set up a refuge for us there.  Now if you'll excuse me gentlemen, I need to get back to piloting the ship," and with that she sauntered off.

Interlude 1

After what seemed an eon of time, the Banshee exited hyperspace.  Out of the viewport Jack was greeted with the impressive vision of a brand-new Nebulon-B frigate.  Captain Okeefe landed the Banshee in one of the frigate’s docking bays and then appeared back in the lounge.  "Okay gentlebeings, let's get you all taken care of," she said as she opened the landing ramp.

As they disembarked, the group was met by the captain of the frigate.  "Gentlebeings, welcome to the Resurgence.  My name is Captain Adrian Verana," he said by way of introduction.  Captain Verana was a tall and slender Human male with jet-black hair and a finely trimmed beard that hugged his square jaw. He was dressed in a sterile uniform similar to the officers Jack had seen at Bail Organa's palace.  His dark eyes seemed to weigh each hero carefully as he spoke to them.

"Admiral Varth, I assume," the captain said, speaking to the ex-Imperial.

"Indeed," Varth answered with a slight nod of his head.

"If you would sir," the captain said shortly, gesturing with his hand to a contingent of several Alderaanian Security agents, who looked at the former Imperial with a mix of suspicion and interest.

Varth gave a slight sigh, but resignedly said "Certainly."

Once the former admiral had been escorted away, Captain Verana turned back to the heroes with a more cheerful disposition.  "Senator Organa is thankful for your assistance and forever grateful that you went to such risks to aid him.  Each of you have been assigned quarters on the Resurgence and the previously agreed-upon credits have been transferred into your bank accounts.  Feel free to confirm the transaction on terminals available in your quarters."  With a slight upturn at the corners of his mouth, the captain continued "If you would be willing, I could make your quarters aboard the ship permanent in exchange for your assistance in the near future. Depending on the results of Varth’s debriefing, I believe that the Senator might have further need of clandestine agents, such as yourselves, to act on his behalf."  Before the heroes could respond, Verana became very serious.  "However, I must ask that you keep as quiet as possible about the Senator’s involvement. Even though Varth has been communicating with Organa on a regular basis, now that we've taken overt action against the Empire, we do not want to incriminate the Senator in any way."

At this point Urb'n did his best to speak up, though his voice was weak.  "There was an Inquisitor on Felucia," he managed to squeak out.

Verana nearly jumped at this and leaned in closely to Urb'n.  "What did you say?"

Urb'n took a deep breath so he would have enough wind to speak.  "On Felucia, an Inquisitor was on his way to pick up Varth."  Urb'n paused to take another pained breath.  "We escaped before he arrived."

Verana seemed very troubled at this news and muttered, barely audible "We may have uncovered something far more involved than a simple Imperial traitor."  He looked off into the distance, but quickly came back to the present.  "But that's a trouble for another time.  For now, please take advantage of the ship’s facilities--including the medical bay," the captain finished.

Interlude 1

The offer to join this operation definitely piqued Jack's interest but he was in too much pain to think more about it right now and shuffled off to the medbay.

Interlude 1

Talamon and Urb'n also dragged themselves to the medbay, where all three of them were treated with expert care.  They were soon all resting peacefully in their assigned quarters.

OOC: You now have a few weeks to do whatever you want.  Is there anything in particular Jack wants to do?
