Steampunk Monster Hunters (GURPS)

Dear sir or madam,

It may have been many years since we last met and, in that time, I hope you have been well. You might recall that I have performed a service for you. In gratitude, you offered to return the favor if ever I required it. A typical form of thanks, to be sure, but I have taken it seriously. I am writing now, because I believe your skills are uniquely suited to aid me in an endeavor that is of the utmost importance. In short, I am taking you up on your offer.

Please make your way to my London residence at no. 3 on Hyde Park Corner on the Third of May at seven o’clock.

With Regards,
Sir William Cartwright III, Earl of Shropgrove

Wherever you may have been in the world, this short note makes its way to you. It is surprisingly crisp and fresh, as though written within the previous few days (impressive if you are in some jungle or far off corner of the globe). You can also recall, quite clearly, what it was that Lord Cartwright did for you. Whether directing you to an ancient fossil or artifact, piloting the sinking craft you were on to safety, rescuing you from cannibals, saving you from certain starvation in the interior of Africa, loaning you a significant sum of money, making certain enemies disappear, or any other similar act of assistance it was significant enough that you would be remiss to ignore this summons, no matter how busy you are.

Lord Cartwright himself is a shining figure of England. The fabulously wealthy aristocrat turned, at different times, university lecturer, Cabinet Minister, archaeologist, and big game hunter is of such unimpeachable character that even his enemies struggle to find something negative to say about him. So, you drop whatever you were doing, or return from wherever you were going, and head to London in answer to his call.

--------------
As the title of this post says, this will be a GURPS: Monster Hunters adventure, in a steampunk setting, that will take you around the world. I am looking for people who can post, on average, 3-5 times a week and are old enough to participate in a Mature rated game. Familiarity with GURPS and the MH books is appreciated, but not required.

I will be accepting applications for at least a week, and will probably start accepting people around 7/8

Re: Steampunk Monster Hunters (GURPS)

I originally had a large enough response to this game that I started two groups, both going through the same story.

One of those groups has had a few drops over the past several months, and we could use 1 or 2 new players. We're just starting a new chapter/module, so it's a great time for you to jump in.

If you're interested, please feel free to send me an RTJ. We can discuss further, I can bring you up to speed on the story so far, and you can see if this game will be a good fit for you.

I play one of the characters in the group. It's a crazy pulpy fun game with lots of action; plus it allows you to play the type of wild concept character you wouldn't get to play in a normal Gurps game outside of a supers campaign.
