Explore The Stolen Lands and build your own stronghold
I am afraid the game is full, at present.
This is a bespoke variant of the Kingmaker adventure path which focuses on exploration, adventure and building your own personal holdings within the Stolen Lands. I use bespoke rule sets for Kingdom Building, Mass Combat, Down Time etc - so they stay on the fringes and leave us with a Role Playing game - rather than a game that is all dice rolling. This is a fairly slow-post game - I generally make a GM update once or twice a week, and I expect you to be able to meet that schedule. RP posts are welcome at any time – and often earn a few xp :]
So far the game has been running for six years – and I suspect it will run for another three or four years. Like all games, we lose players occasionally – some have RL issues, other just decide they want a new challenge – but we still have some players who started off, in the game’s first few posts, as L1 characters.
By the time you join, existing characters will range from L6 to L9 – so you will start at L5. I restrict people to core races and classes – although most of the Base classes from the APG are OK as well. I get more flexible with feats and traits - BUT, this is a very traditional, human centric game setting - with Dwarves as the second most common race.
Rather than an independent kingdom, the whole region, the various noble estates are all, technically, a part of Brevoy – although Brevic politics only impinge on our game area very occasionally (perhaps three times, so far). The last political ‘discussion’ with Brevoy lead to a ‘Magna Carta’ style treaty, that left us with a lot of freedom. However, some characters (and their players) are pushing for complete independence from Brevoy - which would certainly attract their attention. Decisions of that sort are mad by a Council – to which all PCs are invited.
We currently have a number of PC developed Noble Estates – some as part of the Province of Midmarch, others as Marcher-Holdings and an Independent Free City (run by PCs). We also have a PC owned (and managed) Merchant Empire and a number of other PC owned (and managed) Businesses and institutions.
Be prepared to play a long game - You won't have many resources to start with, and you will need to start small – probably with a business that generates an income of some sort. Once that is established, you will be able to build an estate, a merchant house, a religious organisation, a magic college - or just about anything else – so long as you can meet the right criteria :] Many PCs have a portfolio of interests.
If you are interested, please submit at RTJ with a brief overview of your character concept. Don’t develop it too far, we have a very well developed game world – with lots of player informed/generated content. What ever you come up with will have to fit in with that - BUT I can help make that happen.
