Seeking Loquacious Daily Poster D&D/Pathfinder

I'm seeking a player who is interested in strong writing in every post. No one sentence posts.

The most important trait I seek, is a daily poster.

An ideal candidate would likely be someone who works at a computer all day and is able to sneak away to post frequently.

A 1-on-1 game is ideal for fast posting, but I run another very active game which character(s) from a new game could be incorporated into.

Familiarity with Ptolus is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Please respond in this thread.

Seeking Loquacious Daily Poster D&D/Pathfinder

I would be very interested in a 1 on 1 game of Pathfinder. Have a lot of experience being the planner in my groups and have a long history of roleplaying my way through strong foes and gaining power. How about a game that includes the Downtime rules stuff for building guilds/towns so along the way lots of NPC helpers can be created and fleshed out as the story progresses and I grow in power both of battle and political type.

Re: Seeking Loquacious Daily Poster D&D/Pathfinder

In response to both of you, I'm open to almost anything at this point.

I might prefer to run in the Forgotten Realms, but that's not mandatory.

What level would you like to start at? 1st? Higher?

Do you have any concept of a character/class you would like to explore?
Usually in 1-on-1's I also play a character as the DM, but obviously that player doesn't take the lead or it turns into me "playing with myself." :D

Could you send me a link, or a book reference, to these rules so I can review?

In reply to byzantinex (msg # 4):

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamema...other-rules/downtime

I would be fine with any level really, though I often find 1st a little too limiting. 3rd or 4th is a nice bit of having some abilities and also a bit of gold to work with for side stuff in the downtime rules.

Again, totally fine with whatever level though. Don't know much about Forgotten Realms, but whatever setting you prefer.

As for character concept, I'd probably go with an industriously minded vigilante-class trying to gain power while helping people. If downtime rules are in effect he'd probably recruit people with troubled pasts looking for a fresh start or people trying to escape bad things.

Re: Seeking Loquacious Daily Poster D&D/Pathfinder

In reply to Masamunekaigen (msg # 5):

Oh yeah, I really like these Downtime rules. Fantastic resource.

I'm a big believer in characters not just going from adventure to adventure, non-stop.

I also avoid the term "adventurer." No one is really an adventurer. They are a fighter trained in the military who found themselves in a fortuitous situation that earned them some gold and renown. They are a studied wizard who was drawn in for their expertise. They were a tavern owner who had some lock-picking skills, asked along to checkout an old house that happened to be haunted and infested with orcs.

HaHa. You get the picture. Anyway, that's my worldview most of the time.

3rd-4th level is totally fine.

In reply to Masamunekaigen (msg # 7):

Send me an RTJ through the BenSamWeh area and give me a character concept.

I think starting at 1st level would be good, but you will level fast with quick posting just between the two of us, if we move forward.

Re: Seeking Loquacious Daily Poster D&D/Pathfinder

I'm interested.  I'm not familiar with Ptolus yet but I have the PDF, I just haven't had cause to read it yet.  For a character, offhand I'd propose an elven bard--I have one I created for a game that never got off the ground.  As a bard she has reason to travel without being an "adventurer".

If you want to see a writing sample I can rmail it.

Re: Seeking Loquacious Daily Poster D&D/Pathfinder

I'm very interested. Lots of experience with DnD/Pathfinder since 2e. Lots of experience with play by post writing; typically writing 2-5 paragraphs per action. I'm not especially familiar with Ptolus, but I am a quick study and eager to explore a setting.

For a 1:1 game, I tend towards a Rogue, but it'll ultimately depend a little more on the exact nature of the game. Eager to hear from you!

In reply to Trepid (msg # 10):

Ironically the main characters of my primary Ptolus game are both bards. Haha.

In reply to Lockepick (msg # 11):

I've got a rogue too.

...

To both of you, just because we already have those doesn't mean we can't have more. And you wouldn't start out in the main campaign with everyone anyway.

The main thing to know is this is primarily an Urban campaign. You hardly ever leave the city. There are vast Dungeons beneath Ptolus, so there is delving opportunities.

Are you daily posters?

Re: Seeking Loquacious Daily Poster D&D/Pathfinder

I can usually post multiple times per day.  But I am not interested in your group game, sorry.  If you're only offering 1-on-1 play as a prelude to joining the group game, you might want to make that clear in your ad.

Trepid and Lockepick,

As the other player in his game, I can say that I would welcome you as a player to my game.  If you can in fact post multiple times a day within reason of course, I would enjoy having someone else to RP with.

If you send me a rMail I can give you more detail from the player perspective.

Joining a group isn't a requirement, but it's certainly something I was considering could happen at some point. If you never want to join a group, then this probably won't be a good fit.
