Crimson Kiss - An Anitaverse RPG
Welcome to N’Orleans, the Big Easy. Just saying its name conjures up images of sultry Jazz and melancholy Blues music, the rich scent of Creole and Cajun food, the liveliness of Mardi Gras, and the mystery and dark mysticism of Vaudun. It is a city with a rich cultural heritage and history with the Preternatural, going back to well before it was founded in 1718. Hell, the Preternatural is a part of what makes this city great and is so deeply ingrained into the very bedrock the city was built on and woven into the fabric of everyday life. Ghosts, Zombies, Voodoo, the Loa. Hell, even Vampires and Shifters. They all call this city home, and they have all been represented in the stories and tales passed down through the generations of this city’s residence. Hell, all one has to do is wander through a cemetery after dark to see the legacy and the mark our Preternatural beliefs have left on the city.
For the rest of the country, Addison v. Clarke marked a huge change for people, as the veil that separated the world of the living from that of the dead was cast open. But for us? None of us were surprised with the Preternatural world came shamblin’ forth into the light, so to speak. We had always had Voodoo Priestesses, Psychics, Witches, and Animators setting up shop in the Quarter. An’ now? Now we have Vampire Strip Clubs, a self-proclaimed Master of the City, a Werewolf Bar, and a King of the Rats, of all things.
Course the rest of the Louisiana ain’t as civilized. Most Parishes still have some form of Varmint Laws on the books, and the killing of Shifters isn’t as frowned upon outside the big cities, nor are these deaths always investigated.
But don’t let that stop you from comin’ to visit… Just be careful of those Voodoo Priestesses. Cross one, and you may wind up serving them even after death…
Current Events: The New Orleans RPIT has been called in to investigate the possible death of a Shifter, whose body was hung on a billboard for the Howling Wolf just outside the city limits of New Orleans with a warning that all animals must die. While the investigation is still brand new, the Lead Detective has already learned of two other deaths which have occurred outside the city limits inside Orleans Parish, and which are being ignored by the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office.
It appears someone is targeting shifters, torturing them, then executing them and leaving their bodies as warnings.
Crimson Kiss is a free-form story-driven role-playing game set in the Anita Blake universe. The setting of New Orleans, with its rich cultural history and diversity, as well as its familiarity with the supernatural, makes it an idea location for a Universe where Vampires, Shifters, and the occasional Fae make their homes right alongside Humans. Using elements from the Anita Blake books, real life events, and the imagination of your GM staff, our hope is to create an immersive storytelling experience.
Crimson Kiss is a relatively new game, looking for players and characters of all types. Currently, Vampires are the only forbidden character type, but players looking to play Shifters, Witches, Vaudun practitioners, or regular Humans are encouraged to apply.
