Year is 2375 and the Dominion War has just ended. The Allied factions are returning home to rebuild and return to their normal operations. The war has ended, but the Allies have a new obligation.
'Ensure the safety of humanitarian groups, Cardassian civilians, and provide support in the recovery operations of this devistated species.
At this point there are very few senior commanders, the war has taken its toll on all factions in the Alpha and Beta quadrants. The few available are being reassigned to priority missions while shipyards are focused on repairing the substantial damages to their fleets.
With the additional missions required, Commanders and Lt. Commanders are being assigned Command roles in small or outdated (operational) ships to perform occupation and humanitarian objectives within Cardassian space.
The Bajoran government, although applying for Federation membership have refused to provide aid for Cardassia or allow the allied powers to operate from Deep Space 9 in their humanitarian missions. The program is being commanded out of Star Base 359 with each commander controlling a sector.
There are three sectors currently unfilled and every commander in excess of those missions will be assigned system support operations. (sectors cover multiple systems, system support covers only 1 system).
Each commander will command a ship to fulfill their missions. As the majority of Federation vessels are already assigned. The only available class are several NX II class cruisers (model the NX ships of the 22nd cent. with upgrades) or a choice of Cardassian Frigate or Destroyer classes.
Each player is the commander of their own ship (a listing is available in game). and are allowed to select a sector for their ship to patrol. Each sector has some overlap with other sectors.
This allows each player to run solo games at their own pace or coordinate with one or two others for a team effort to accomplish missions. You set the pace
Missions will be posted on a board for each sector. Missions are run on PM.
