Redemption or Destruction after the Apocolypse

10,000 years after the cataclysm destroyed the old world, the Goddess of the Blessed arose and created the Originators. It is a mystery just how she came to being, some say she was a dying child who was given a gift by Death's horseman. Some say she is the last daughter of the Fallen, a final Nephilim. While we do not know the origin of the Blessed Goddess, we do know that she passed her blessing on to her Brother the king, his right hand, the Venator, the keeper of the peace, and our Beloved Bishop, the dispatcher of knowledge, the keeper of secrets.

From these four came the Brethren, true vampires born, the Number, those that are part human and part vampire, and the magic users, humans that are the scourge of the earth and killed on sight. Beware children lest you find a magic user among you. Tell the nearest Protector of them. The alchemists, witches, and those touched by other magics are the Despised and not to be approached.

More information:

This game is an open-ended, post-apocalyptic vampire saga with a Game of Thrones sort of flavor (without the pedophilia and excessive smut).

There are 5 classes besides the Originators

1st Class - The Brethren - full vampires descended from The Goddess. All full vampires have the Goddess in their family tree someplace. They are the aristocracy of this world, and hold most of the power. Refer to each other as Sister or Brother.

2nd class - The Number - These are Dhampirs - also descended from the Goddess who kept half of their humanity. They tend to hold upper class positions but are looked down about by the Brethren. You will usually see them as soldiers. There is rumored to be a faction that seeks to overthrow The Brethren. They are referred to as "Seconds" or "Numbers" so their title would be "Second (name) or Numbered (name).

3rd Class - The Chosen - despite having a third class designation, because these are made vampires created by the Brethren, they can hold a higher regard to The Number in the Brethren's eyes. Who they are made by determines their power and ability to stay sane. Chosen "births" are highly regulated.

4th Class - Normal Humans - considered cattle, pets, and slaves (not sexy-time slaves). They run the farms and live in the rural villages that surround the vampire cities. They all belong to one Brethren or another and their blood is sold to Chosen and Numbers (to Numbers at an exorbitant price).

5th Class - Human magic users (diviners, witches, alchemists) - Also descended from the Goddess. They are considered "mistakes" and killed on sight if discovered. They are the "untouchables" of this world, and cannot boldly use their craft. Any person who wants to play this will be depicted as poor and hungry. A special magic user class is the shifters who sometimes have a fate worse than death.

Because a game is not fun without rivalry:

Factions -

Secret Order of Sciences.  Human organization dedicated to removing the Nephilim curse from the world.

Church of the Creator - Human zealots that wish to annihilate all abominations from the Earth to bring the Creator back.

Society for the Advancement of Numbers. - Order to remove the lack of Advancement for Dhampirs.

New Order People for Ethical treatment of Shifters, Magic Users, and Numbers (NO PETS MAN): The destruction of the world evolved shifters. Shifters are treated poorly and are included in the fifth class

Need Faction leaders for Secret Order of Sciences, Church of the Creator, Society for the Advancement of Numbers, and New Order People for Ethical treatment of Shifters, Magic Users, and Numbers (NO PETS MAN):

Plus brethren, numbers, and chosen, and normal humans

The Nephilim Code

More History of the game:

The setting of the game is 10,000 years after The End of Days. The Creator has taken all True Believers to New Earth, leaving everyone else to the dying Old Earth that's mostly in flames now, or sunk into the boiling oceans. The Fallen - angels that lost the angelic war, along with Lucifer, are all dying - but in their last bid for revenge, manage to save the world from being entirely destroyed, A new continent that includes part of North and South America from about Arizona to Texas, to about the Northern part of Brazil has been healed and raised by the last of their power, and any people still left were put there with whatever technology is left to try to rebuild the world. Overtime, the Fallen disappear leaving only one, who has become disgusted because the Creators sinful creatures are once again descending into their vile ways. Using the last of his power, he finally finds one good person that he believes is worthy of his gift and supplies her with the Nephilim code and instructs her to be the Goddess, ruler, and scourge of humanity. She is unstable though, so he realizes that the power cannot be contained in one soul and tells her to spread it among three others. Unable to resist the order, she does so.
The Fallen disappears shortly afterward.

Thousands of years go by. The four rule the world with an iron fist, and fill the earth with their children. The  Goddess, unfortunately, had fallen in love with a human about 1000 years ago and planned to turn the human into a Chosen to keep him forever. Before this could happen, the human rebellion rose up, and the Goddess' lover was assassinated by a magic user.

Somehow, to the delight of most of humanity, the vampires began to die off, first the Chosen and Dhampirs, then Brethren with weak bloodlines. It looked like the Humans would win the war and usurp their vampire overlords. There was a rumor that the Goddess had died as well, which sparked celebrations in all the farming towns.

Then, the Goddess was once again found in the temple, alive. And, whatever disease had befallen the accursed vampires also ceased. The originators razed the earth of all usurpers and the rebellion was squashed. Most humans had all traces of what had happened erased from memory, but a few managed to escape the memory wipe and created secret societies with the plan to create an even better end to the vampires than the rebellion.

The Nephilim Code - Post Apocalyptic Vampire Freeform

In reply to 42pencils (msg # 1):

Hey! I'm brand-new!
I don't quite know how to navigate this website, but I live how this storyline gives of a Vampiric Handmaid's Tale vibe!

I'd love to RP. Although, I'd rather use an experimental character rather than an iconic one like the Goddess or King, if that's ok.

I have an idea for a "dream witch", but since her powers are undetected, and only during her sleep or in the astral/energy realm, she's considered a non-magic human because she has no conscious abilities. I think, ironically, it would be interesting if she was raised by her family to support the Church of the Creator sanction, which contradicts her whole identity/ alter ego as a witch at night.

The Nephilim Code - Post Apocalyptic Vampire Freeform

Appreciate the words and interest in the game! We've begun posting. No longer need the King or Goddess (decided to make the Goddess an NPC as it works better with a story line)

Would like some Faction leaders, Brethren, Chosen, and Numbers and humans.

Have a random goal list that's really creating some amazing story plots along with some humor

The Nephilim Code - Post Apocalyptic Vampire Freeform

Have some great players. One of which has helped renovate my game world quite a bit. We now have some interesting definitions of magic and I'm slowly working on culture, family life, celebrations, and the government. The celebrations will allow our characters to travel to other parts of the world.

The Venatrix has a special elite force of soldiers called the Black Dragons that are all Brethren. We need one or two players for these roles.

Would like to have Brethren rulers that rule the other three countries besides New Eden, especially the ruler for Zenfiln, they are the most rebellious in the union :) The ruler for Kilisat is pretty rebellious as well. The ruler for Morfolo is an elitist pig however and probably good chums with Morbus. 3 of these.

We have a crazed chosen in the city who is bound and determined to make their own chosen and take over. I would like a player to play this role.

Some unique things about our games is the random goal you roll for when you first start. It helps to give your character some direction in the game, and we now have a calendar that will include one contest per game month (such as a fishing contest, or a gladiator type event) with a defined winner (the game itself is freeform, and those that wouldn't want to participate in the contest could be spectators).

I still would like the Chosen that is spreading the vampire virus in Amapolis

The Nephilim Code - Post Apocalyptic Vampire Freeform

We need a new pestilence king. Our player has not been with us for a few weeks. It's a very interesting role. Will be willing to alter the character if necessary

I would really like a vizier that advises the king. Prefer a male to run the role. They are basically running the show in New Eden and have been for nearly as long as the Four have been alive.

I would like some  equally powerful rulers for the other 3 countries (all rulers will be over 5k years old, but under 10K). I plan for there to be a war with Zenfiln because of their insistence to be a sovereign state. All the rulers will be at the blood ball, where the tensions will explode.

The Nephilim Code - Post Apocalyptic Vampire Freeform

We decided for now that the king will be an NPC. If someone wants to take him on, he's still open to be adopted. We lost the player that was running him.

What I really need is a Machiavellian sort of advisor to the king. A mysterious figure that is running things from the background.

Because I also plan to have a conflict with the country of Zenfiln, I would like an ambassador to attend the blood ball.

The Nephilim Code - Post Apocalyptic Vampire Freeform

For the Blood Ball, there will be a gladiator like event with a very rules light format just to determine the winner of the event. I would like some soldier types, resentful human slave types, and arrogant nobles to participate.

We've also fleshed out the idea for the Chosen vampire renegade. He or she is a former magic user turned vampire, and it will soon be clear why the vampires wanted all magic users dead.

2 or 3 new players (1 for the chosen, 2 for the games) would be nice. Perhaps someone might want to take on our king character since the player was lost.

A post apocalyptic Journey to destruction or redemption

We will be holding the Blood Ball shortly

I've decided that the tournament only needs a winner. I would like just one gladiator who defeats all the comers. We can do quite a war sequence. There will be no dice

Still would like the Chosen vampire.

Just need 2 new players.
