Zero to Hero! A trope, but a good one! D&D 3.5 classless.

Hi all,

Doing a reboot of a game I started several years back. Group had a good time, I took a lengthy hiatus and looking to reboot the flavor of the game.

Level 1 young adventurers ready to face the world. You will have recently completed a trial to become recognized adults of your village and now must honor an ancient pact made with the Fey to keep your village prosperous.

Reclaim a pact relic, claim your birthright and destinies, whatever that may be. Do you have the makings of a Hero?


This game is designed to guide new and experience players alike into using a classless system while still enjoying the D&D 3.5 rule system. You truly get to create a character to your style and taste instead of shoehorning a concept into an existing class or prestige class combo.

Focus is going to be RP - Character interaction and NPC interactions, creative thinking and of course when diplomacy fails, the tried and true murder hobo ritual of combat.

Looking for players able to commit to steady bout of posting to keep the momentum going (min of 2 posts a week, though more is desired.)

Looking to fill an open spot (Either adopt a character - Dragonborn Paladin) or create a new concept level 1 still.

This is a MATURE game.

Looking to have someone adopt our Exiled Barbarian (Level 3). He's a great tank, loves wrestling moves, and has an animal companion.

Group is currently exploring mines that have uncovered an ancient city with alien creatures causing trouble.

Reboot - Level 1 3.5e Classless 'Zero to Hero' game

Khorolf, a man's man, barbarian of the north, though in exile...

Standing 6'4 feet tall, Khorolf has pale skin, black hair and ice blue eyes. He wears leather armor and boots and has a black cloak decorated with giant black raven feathers. He carries a greatsword on his back, but mostly fights with his body and uses wrestling tactics. He is massively muscular and cut, having lives off the land all his life. It is said he is or could be, the most illustrious Illuskan ever to take shape in the human form. He is of the line and blood of Uthgar himself.

Betrayed and left for dead after a raid by his older half-brother, Ostagar Tenfeather, Khorolf now wanders the land. Having grown up in the cold north, Khorolf has gained a bit of a reputation as a warrior-thief. Since his exile he has butted heads with followers of Bane a few times.

Khorolf is part Ultimate Warrior(80s), part Schwarzenegger as Conan, part Gilgamesh.

We have an orphaned barbarian and a holy occultist or play a shapeshifting dragon.

Or create a new villager who is destined for greatness!

Story so far...

At the Festival Rite of Passage, the group of aspiring adults are transported to the realm of the Fey, where they learn they have a duty to help the fey to continue to have bountiful crops and blessings of the land. They also learn that the staff used in the ritual was stolen and they have given a replacement.

A horrible incursion of chaos was found at a local mine with deformed orcs capturing miners to make new deformed minions. The plot was foiled by the group after much fighting to gain entry to the inner sanctum. There they convinced the Pit Fiend lord that the allies used were not in alignment with his plans and would ultimately lead to a great imbalance.

After securing some loot, the group vanquished the remnant chaos elements, and returned to their village. They are now going to deal with a local band of bandits who are stopping all traders from reaching the villages that depend on supplies to make it through the winter.

Need more players

Down to 3 core players for this game. Sadly, real life (School, Medical Issues, and work) have pulled the other players away.

Level 3 currently, any concepts are welcome to join.

STORY SO FAR:

Having pushed back the Zerg menace in the mines, our heroes have just cleared out a gang of bandits backed by Hellgate Keep. They are bolstering the defenses of their village Beckfyrd.

Will other heroes answer the call to help?

CAMPAIGN SETTING: Forgotten Realms - High Forest near Old Grandfather Tree
Level: 3
Races allowed - Any with decent justification, all current characters are human.
