The Wilted Lands - A Fantasy Horror Adventure
The Wilted Lands were a once beautiful, flourishing world that 50 years ago started to decay. This Great Rot, as it would later be called, was rapid, and unexpected. It turned the water grey, and left the seas barren. It turned the soil to ash, and the rain to poison. It made stone brittle, and cloth fragile. It left most of the world as an uninhabitable waste.
After forty years of continual decay, the rot suddenly halted when a great light came from the sky, and formed the moon and stars. With their formation, a magical barrier in one small corner of the world came into existence, protecting the small pocket of humanity that lived there. Everywhere else the inescapable decay meant certain death.
40 years have passed since then, and there are rumors that new evils come from the Dead Lands, and whispers that the great magical barriers that have protected mankind are starting to dissipate. Some claim to even have witnessed monsters falling from the sky, leaving whole villages in ruin and death.
You find yourself all alone in this world, in a strange little tavern on some road far from any castle or town, about to get swept up in a story greater than your own. Will you discover the mysteries of this world, and save it from the inevitable rot, or we'll your character despair and go mad like so many heroes before?
The Wilted Lands is a horror fantasy game with a strong emphasis on interesting characters and a fast moving plot. This will be a structured game, with a very specific story that is going to be told.
This doesn't mean your character cannot impact or change this story. On the contrary, I hope they do.
