The Ghosts of War in Eberron (D&D 5e)
Even a decade past, The Last War still burns deep in the hearts of the people of Eberron. The Mourning's devastation was so cataclysmic it's impact was felt by all, not just by the natives of Cyre and those unfortunate enough to be within it's borders when it struck. Truly an event one would think to herald the end of a war to end all wars. But... Eberron was always built of war.
As the world settles into this new and uneasy peace, some see opportunity. Countless wars have shaped the world of Eberron; it's lands, it's peoples. In the settling dust of The Last War, what horrors from wars past might one find if they were to dig deep enough. And to what end?
Sometimes, the humblest beginnings lead to the grandest adventures...
High atop Lyrandar Tower the wind whips across the airship dock as the orange light of the fading sun slowly begins to set across the horizon. The mighty airships of House Lyrandar float overhead ringed by a brilliant glow of elemental energy. As far as the eye can see below, bridges connect this way and that between all of Sharn's massive towers. The sounds of the city echo up into evening; hippogriffs braying and skycoach drivers cursing back at them as they navigate the cities airways, merchants hocking their wares.
You're here for a meeting, but didn't expect to see a handful of others there as well. You look at the letter in your hand and notice a similar one in each of theirs. All from Sergeant Germaine Vilroy. The tone and wording may be different from letter to letter but the gist was the same in each one. 'I need you for a job. I can't write the details. It pays well and could use your skills. Meet me atop Lyrandar Tower's docks at dusk. Come armed.'
This will be a D&D 5e game set in Eberron starting at 1st level. It will begin with the Forgotten Relics adventure in the 'Rising From the Last War' book but there is a whole campaign planned beyond that could potentially go all the way to 20th level. I'm looking for good oriented players who enjoy coloring outside the lines. Think the crew of Firefly as an example.
