Karmically cursed outcasts dwell in the shadows of Tokyo's 14 million mortals. Most drink blood, but they are not Western vampires; it is the chi contained within that sustains their own corpses that they animate.

Make no mistake: their risen state is no accident. Whether an evil person in life or the victim of a horrific death, each and every Kuei-jin had to will their dead spirit against unimagined odds to return to the land of the living.

Heaven granted them a slim second chance, though. Each Kuei-jin subscribes to a choice of dharma--a path to enlightenment--in the hope of rejoining the Karmic cycle. Such a monumental task could take millennia, but the wisdom accrued along the way gives them greater control over their insidious, base natures.

Your characters will be bound together by one of the ancient Kuei-jin Courts, into a group known as a wu, typically formed for a singular purpose. Members of a wu comprise a mix of both dharmas and directions; the latter based on the astrological conditions when a particular Kuei-jin first rose from the dead.

Start human and experience the horror show to become one of these creatures!

Their souls have gone through various hells. One more could emerge. The current group has been charged with finding out why previous Kuei-jin went missing at an American military base. Their only lead is a lingering wraith.

This is a daily-active game with excellent players.

As this is an obscure setting, I have an official copy of the core rules that I can share. But all you need to know is that your character died with bad karma that won't let him rest. Throw oil on the fire, you're in Tokyo and if you can defy a city, you can defy death.
