From lands beyond the broken mirror,
The Lost are coming home.
Through durance vile and briers bitter,
The Lost are coming home.
Flying through the tearing Thorns,
The Lost are coming home.
Fleeing from the Huntsmen's horns,
The Lost are coming home.
Minds in ruin, souls in tatters,
The Lost are coming Home.
To home and hearth and all that matters,
The Lost are coming home.
Don't be standing in their way,
The Lost are back at home.
There'll be the devil and all to pay
The Lost are back at home.
Summer. The Bradshaw Valley bakes in the Arizona sun, a heavy, beating heat that shortens tempers even as it drains all your energy away. It's a perfectly normal day, though...full of life's little annoyances and tiny triumphs.
Then you feel it. A sudden, cold shiver down your spine. Despite the heat, you feel goosebumps ripple up your skin. There's a high, sharp crack as the rearview mirror cracks, and when you look at it, for a moment you see the face of a stranger instead of your own. Someone who shouldn't be there. An impostor.
The feeling passes, but only because a growing sense of doom fills its place. Something is
wrong with the world. Someone was lost, but have found a way back, and now they're coming. And when they arrive, you know to your bones that they will
hate you. That you, and the life you have built for yourself, everything you have ever worked for or cared for, is in danger.
It's the summer of broken mirrors, and The Lost are coming for you. What will you do?
Welcome to
The Summer of Broken Mirrors, an urban horror fantasy game where everything is not as it seems. The life you lived may not have been perfect, but hey,
nobody's perfect. You made some choices, you've made some mistakes, and you've done the best you could with what you had. But now something is coming for you. Something horrible, born of torture and servitude and bitter rage. They're the monsters behind the mirror, and they're wearing
your face. And worse yet, they claim that somehow, impossibly, they aren't the impostors --
you are. They claim you're a thing made of sticks and cloth, a cuckoo sitting in the nest, an unwanted relic who is now in the way of them reclaiming their rightful place in the world.
But it's
your life. Are you just going to let them roll over you? Or are you going to show them who
truly belongs here, and who the better person
really is?
Shadows Over Bradshaw: The Summer of Broken Mirrors is a flip of the typical script of the game
Changeling: The Lost. Instead of playing a faerie-transformed abductee, you are playing a Fetch, the construct the Gentry left in their place when they were stolen. They want to take back their lives, and you are in their way. And from this premise, of dealing with monsters wearing your face, you are going to be pulled into the wider supernatural world. Come on in and explore!
