Explorator Fleet 11-38.J/The Annihilus Crusade
Known by the Mechanicus by its alpha-numeric designation and by other elements as it’s military operation monicker, this task force is part of Roboute Guilliman’s plan to explore and reclaim elements of the Imperium Sanctus. These new sectors of space will function as replacement worlds for those cut off by the Great Rift. Providing both new colonies and new resources 11-38.J is, at its core, a joint operation between the rogue trader Lord-Captain Raziel Karras and Archmagos Typhon Pell.
The fleet assembles at the Graia forge world in preparation to depart south through the Annihilus Straits to an area largely cut off from the Imperium for some time. This region, at the edges of Segmentum Tempestus, is a combination of worlds once claimed during the Great Crusade and several sectors worth of worlds unknown to any human explorer.
Update: Part of the fleet has successfully navigated through the strait, and is preparing to transition out of the warp at the Mandeville Point. A Flesh Tearers strike cruiser, long lost in the warp mysteriously joined the convoy in the warp. The other part of the convoy is attempting to rescue the holy Sororitas strike cruiser Dominica’s Blade from a daemonic incursion after it was caught in a violent warp storm and was blown off course into the Annihilus warp rift. Archmagos Pell and his vessel are missing after being caught in the same storm.
The Out-of-Game Info
This will be along the lines of 40k mixed with Star Trek, an Imperial exploration fleet going forth to explore new frontiers, mark new worlds for colonization or exploitation, and drive back the darkness of the Xenos or traces of Chaos. Old technology is likely to reside in these formerly shrouded areas of space as well as hidden dangers.
This is a Tier 3 game to start.
Update: As the game has started now, there is a tighter focus on the archetypes that will be accepted. In the RTJ there is a list of a range of categories that new character concepts should fall within.
