Gamma World / Mutant Future: The Far Lone Isle

The rumors are plentiful, the explanations woefully scant. The end happened far enough in the past that even the oldest person in your village was born into a world that bore only a crumbling resemblance to what it once must have been. The Earth has been irrevocably changed, and the truth of history has taken a back seat to the necessity of survival in the gamma future!

Game begins on the Far Lone Isle, an island some 50 kilometers off the coast of a great continent, now fallen into ruin and forbidden...

Much like the OSR (Old School Revival) games, I'm aiming for a tone in-between "I don't name them 'til they hit 5th level" and "I wrote an 18-page backstory so I expect my character to have plot armor".  The death of a PC is possible, and likely at some point to happen at least once.  That doesn't mean the player is out of the game - there will be the opportunity to bring in new, exciting characters.

To me, the genre is "Planet of the Apes" mixed with "Star Man's Son" and some of Bakshi's "Wizards" thrown in.  It may have zany mutations and characters, but it's not played for laughs, or goofy.  Death in the Black Years is a real thing.  Movies like "The Terminator" and "Road Warrior" also play into this.  And of course "Kamandi, Last Boy on Earth" as well as the unforgettable "Thundarr the Barbarian"!

Please don't post here as I may not check frequently.  Come to the game, browse around, and check out the RTJ!
