I recently made the mistake of thinking to myself that I didn't have any good plot ideas to run a D&D game in.  And while I don't that shouldn't stop me.

This game isn't about plot, although that can surely happen, it is about characters and setting.

While this may seem a bit unusual to many players I expect some of you, particularly experienced GMs, will find it at least as interesting and hopefully refreshingly different.

Characters are made at 5th level using the 5e D&D rules, all 3rd party material you can provide is usable. (subject to a bit of power balance requiring fix for the wacky stuff)

Characters may come from any world, in any genre, for any reason, although some explanations may need to be more complex than others.
