Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy, also known as Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, Brakebills Preparatory College of Magic, Brakebills Academy for Magical Pedagogy, or simply Brakebills, is the premier institution for the study of magic in North America. Since its establishment in 1763, Brakebills has been the standard-bearer of American magical society and has given rise to generation after generation of illustrious Magicians.
Brakebills students learn from a faculty composed of the world's preeminent Magicians in every area, gain invaluable practical experience via our vast alumni resources, and go on to successful careers in a wide array of magical fields. Our students also benefit greatly from working with one another in our close-knit community: the Brakebills student body is the cream of the crop, and Magic is strongest when cooperative.
The Brakebills admissions process is extremely selective. Prospective students do not apply, but are instead selected via a highly attuned detection process designed to identify individuals with magical potential. Following a period of observation and evaluation, those selected are then invited to take the Brakebills Entrance Exam. Only a handful of those invited actually pass the exam, but those who do join the ranks of the most elite magical institution in North America.
After a few month long hiatus, we have decided to get this game rolling again! We are just about to get going, and would love to see some new players enter the mix!
This game is based on the show The Magicians, which was based on the Magicians trilogy of books by Lev Grossman. It will take place in a separate time line to the show and books. While the setting will remain more or less the same, most of the characters and all of the events of the show and books do not exist. The only characters that remain from the original tales are the professors and Dean Fogg, though Dean Fogg never lost his eyesight.
