"Barbarians of the Ruined Earth is a weird post-apocalyptic fantasy setting inspired by Thundarr the Barbarian. Throw in a healthy heap of Mad Max: Fury Road and a little Pirates of Dark Water and you’ve got yourself a Saturday Morning Cartoon Stew fueled by heavy metal!

The players take on the role of heroes (or maybe some feisty brigands or profiteers), wandering the Ruined Earth defeating evil Sorcerers, beating the crap out of mutated frog-men, bashing some raider skulls, or wandering through the stinking ruins of an Ancient Earth space shuttle hanger looking for bits of Stupendous Science!"

The setting will be filled with puns, the game structured loosely like a television series, and be largely player-driven within an over-arcing campaign setting involving saving your settlement by recovering a lost artifact.

There will be pop culture references, terrible puns taken at face value, and tropes taken from the classic cartoons that inspire the game. It will get no darker in tone or style than Thundarr The Barbarian, Pirates of Darkwater, Blackstarr, and similar cartoons did. Cartoon conventions will be observed, and the game structured loosely like a television series.

BoTRE is available several places including DriveThru RPG as a PDF (which is where I got my copy via a lovely Christmas gift that inspired me to run it.)

I am comfortable with up to 7 players. Two slots are reserved, one for Silverlion, the other on option for a player who has to get back to me on joining this site just to play.

Five more slots open, a possible 6th to come if the aforementioned player declines.

So far so good, would like to have a solid 4 - 6 to start up. I'll give it a couple more days, as the player mentioned above is in.

Apparently, unless I am terminally confused, I can't add a player without them already having an existing character name.

Yeah...I sent a RTJ a week or so ago. As a newbie I'm afraid I don't know how it works from the authors point of view.
