Series of disasters in the past four months have resulted in many small towns and villages on the borders of Trozan to be abandoned as hideous invaders wreck havoc. In a few cases, a militia or small band of exceptional warriors have stemmed the tide in a small area, but invading forces have been largely more successful than the defenders. This has led to an influx of refugees into the center of Trozan, and while there is no clear opponent, recruiting drives for the military are nearing war-time levels. In every town and village not overrun and abandoned, riders from the military have gone from Breidhof to post these flyers:

Seeking up to six 1st level PCs who will get caught up in an adventure in the capital city before potentially being formed into an elite scout unit for the army. As an elite scout unit, assignments will come their way with much more latitude in how to get the job done than is granted to the infantry. The tasks may range from investigating a strange tomb that has been determined to be the source of trouble, towns in trouble, raiders from across the border, and even some excursions across the border, and finally gathering evidence of the greater intelligence behind the troubles and bringing defeat to that evil.
