Sail the Endless Sea
It is said that the three witches were discovered weaving dark sorcery. When evidence of their terrible acts and their intentions was given to King Amemnus, the monarch pronounced their sentence himself, ordering that they be cast into the depths of the sea.
As their sentence was carried out, the three sisters uttered a curse with their dying breaths, and with the turning of the tide came a ferocious storm, one that drowned the whole of Caribdus beneath 50 fathoms of water.
Soon after, ships from another world drifted out of the mists into the Thousand Isles. These newcomers, refugees from Earth, are sailors from the age of piracy; dashing corsairs, bloodthirsty buccaneers, and savage sea dogs.
They have taken readily to the new world they find themselves in and now set sail alongside its strange inhabitants - crab-like scurillians, massive grael, lonely doreen, mysterious kraken, cruel kehana, and the near-human masaquani.
Many believe that these new visitors are destined to destroy the Sea Hags and save Caribdus, but most are only interested in plundering her for the forgotten treasures of a drowned world.
I’m starting up a campaign in the 50 Fathoms setting for Savage Worlds. 50 Fathoms is a unique fantasy setting that takes many elements from the Age of Sail and its accompanying legends of piracy. I currently have a group of five players who are preparing to chart a course across the drowned world of Caribdus, but I wanted to see if there might be a sixth who would be interested in taking part.
The game utilizes the most recent iteration of the Savage Worlds rules, the Adventure Edition. If the setting seems intriguing to you, kindly drop by the game and have a look about. If you find you’d like to join in, send a RTJ my way.
